Just imagine 50 ppl in the air in a steel body overcoming gravity.

You need energy to produce energy. Have you thought of that? I know hydrogen abounds in nature, water et all but you have forgotten you need to expend energy to even extract the hydrogen? Electrolysis for instance needs electricity. It is not straight-forward as we are often made to believe my brother. CH4 may you forget is an hydrocarbon of which crude oil is still a source. So head or tail you go back to oil.
People are already doing this there are equipment that can separate hydrogen from water or crude.

Even Toyota has started making it..hydrogen fuel cell

Just know that cars where only made 100years ago by that ppl said it's impossible for car to replace horse but from bicycle we have cars.

I am saying this that Nigeria will be doomed to rely on oil in the next 10 yrs because there is abundance of crude in the world. OPEC will become a toothless dog just as it is now- if OPEC had there way crude will be at least 500 per barrel

There is over abundance of hydrocarbon d problem was technology to bring it out

You think a car can be made that drive hundreds and thousands kilometre on hydrogen? Even if true from where do you source the hydrogen? You want to power a ship or a jumbo jet on hydrogen cell? My brother there is limit to those energy sources. Fossil and nuclear power sources are what can give you a spurt of energy needed to run some machines. Unfortunately nuclear power is limited by safety consideration and that give a more readily available fossil fuel (which oil is a major source) some respite.

I believe ur where not a science student. Hydrogen is one of the most available element in the world.

Even in crude oil you find hydrogen such as ethane, methane ,propane.

There basic nature is. CH4. Four hydrogen toto.one carbon. I neva mention water .

Forget oil these yeye talk of oil losing relevance. Other forms of energy will come on stream but oil will maintain its percentage in the energy mix. Infact the demand for oil is projected to increase in future. The only issue for oil in future is that current events has made it clear to opec and other that any attempt to allow oil price unduly skyrocket will allow other hitherto dormant oil sources become economical to produce and thus render opec powerless. What you will see opec do from now is manage oil price within a range that ensure other oil sources and other energy sources remain uneconomical to deploy within the prevailing crude price.

Dey there, there r people working 24/7 to make this a reality .

Do u know that a car can be powered by hydrogen.

only usa getting involved in fracking dropped price of oil from 100 to 30.

Our dependence on that substance is what's put us in the mess we find ourselves today. As long as the price keeps going up, our government might not see the

need to drastically push towards diversification.

Future price of oil is 5 dollars per barrel

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why Entrepreneurship Is Not The Solution To Unemployment In Nigeria by vodkat: 1:39pm On Jan 24, 2016
oneolajire:
Nigeria is a country where all big investors have no inventions (tangible or intangible) to their credit. Bill Gates, Henry Ford, Michael Dell, Thomas Edison and the likes all have products to patent, but most entrepreneurs we have in Nigeria have invented nothing and have made it through dubious means.

Entrepreneurship/vocational education is government's way of telling the youth and graduates that she (the government) lacks industrialisation and job creation strategies while the youth have been left to fate.

Entrepreneurship/vocational education is government's way of making the youth/graduates look intellectually lazy and burdensome as well as telling them that they are have been abandoned in the valley of unemployment. Unemployment rate increased simply because government owned industries and companies get strangulated by the python of corruption as well as the refusal of the government to establish new ones.

Entrepreneurship in advanced countries is about innovations, inventions, improvements, expansions, people and institutional empowerment. Modern and sophisticated skills are being utilised to manufacture goods and services which culminates into abundant job creation.

Entrepreneurship in Nigeria is of the graduate job seeker told to engage in bead making, soap making, hair dressing, laundry and so on. These businesses have neither inventions nor advancement to add to the business practice and the economy, as they also have little or no impact on the international market.

Entrepreneurship in Nigeria is also of the rich that colludes with the government to defraud the masses, destroy public corporations and infrastructures in order for them to import alternative goods. The rich set up few enterprises and often pay peanuts to their employees in order to increase their wealth; culminating into increase in poverty level and underemployment in the country.

The government of advanced countries often invest billion of dollars on education and research, so they always have intellectuals who will offer innovative products and services to the world. These products and services are initially developed into small scale businesses as they many even grow into large enterprises. While Nigeria keeps wasting hard earned funds on Small and Medium Scale (SME) development, yet the businesses are nowhere to be found.

Only an insane person will keep doing the same thing the same way and expect a different result. Am yet to see a nation that got developed by investing so little on the education of her youth and students but spend so much on SME propaganda. Still searching for a nation that gave nothing more than mere, non-professional, common, stark and non-sophisticated skills/training to her youth and achieved rapid industrial development.

Why should we buy a trailer engine, fix it in a car and try to make it compete with an aircraft? Why should we make people earn mere skills and expect them to compete with foreign sophisticated technologies? We have to know that the issue of local production of goods and services is a serious competetion with the developed nations.

Some questions for the proponents of entrepreneurship/vocational education.
When will out textile, fashion and leather industry be able to make products of international standard? When will a Nigerian mechanic be able to manufacture car engines and other motor parts? When will our furniture makers be able to make furniture that will compete with ones made overseas? When will a computer repairer be able to produce motherboards, memorycards, monitors, just to mention a few?

Take a look at the furniture industry in Nigeria, you'll discover it is almost dead because foreign furniture has flooded the Nigerian market. Foreign furniture makers have been able to introduce much variety of products with various designs, even at exorbitant prices, yet people still buy them. Imported furniture  attains this much because modern machines are regularly produced to make new designs of furniture, but here in Nigeria, we only buy simple tools, we don't engage in design and manufacture of  machines/tools to be used in the furniture industry, so we are perpetually making furniture that cannot compete with the foreign ones. It is only engineering provide modern machines, stack entrepreneurship cannot.

Entrepreneurship and and vocational education has never helped Nigeria in the manufacture of modern machines for production of finished goods that can compete favourably with imported ones. The best entrepreneurship has offered us is to use social media means to engage in selling of imported products as well as setting up of few businesses with the use of foreign machines. It is appaling for government to still keep preaching the sermon that can never bring solutions to us.

Every sector of the Nigerian economy has been badly affected by the erroneous policy of entrepreneurship and vocational education. From the agricultural sector to the transportation sector, from manufacturing to education, from construction to entertainment, name it, we have rendered our nation incapacitated when it comes to production of goods and services. There can never be abundant job opportunities as long as we keep executing this lame practice.

I wonder why we have not giving so much vocational training to professional operating as doctors, nurses and pharmacist in the medical field. We give this set of people trainings that can make them compete favourably with their foreign counterpart. I believe it should appear proper to the government to substitute entrepreneurship and vocational education with the training they receive in the teaching hospitals.  The government (after emptying the laboratories and workshops of polytechniques and universities) substituted requisite training for our engineers and scientist with entrepreneurship and vocational training, so they are rendered handicapped when it comes to provision of modern goods and services as well as job creation.

It is high time we changed our job creation policy of entrepreneurship and vocational studies to provision of qualitative education at all levels, especially science and technology education so that Nigerian graduates would possess requisite modern and sophisticated skills for our nation and the world market at large. It is only qualitative education and intensive research that can initiate intellectual thinking for creation of innovative goods and services.

Entrepreneurship and vocational studies have been found to have contributed immensely only to economy of nations with massive investments in education and research. Singapore and South Korea are the examples of nations that have eradicated illiteracy and have invested huge funds into science and technology education, so entrepreneurship thrives there.

Let the laboratories and workshops of our secondary schools and higher institutions be adequately equipped with modern and facilities so as to provide avenues for learning practicals. We need to replicate the likes of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg who utilised the qualitative education they obtained in the tetiary institutions to create worldwide business ventures in their fields.

Glad to see ur post, glad tosee that Nigerians are now aware of the scam called entrepreneurship. God bless Nigeria

The truth is people need to be experimental and apply what they learnt in college or university in a pratical sense

After learning wood work in JSS nothing stops a nigerian studen from doing an apprentiship and learning how to make furniture which can be exported if its world class

the nigerian educational system needs improvement but as poor as it is if one can take a practical approach and see how it fits into the world maybe there will be a change

Agreed but what you termed as buying and selling as in the case of Nigeria is not the way to grow an economy. Its simply importing what were produced in another country and sell in your country.
Entrepreneurs use resources in their countries to produce needs or to meet needs for example, a baker uses Nigeria made cassava flour to make bread. Tailors sow made in Nigeria Ankara or fabrics to make Aso Ebi, that is growing economy not buying from Taiwan and selling in Nigeria.
And that sector of buying and selling is about 11% of the GDP but who produce what is sold?
Growing the economy need entrepreneurs who want to meet needs in the society.

a true entreprenuer ship is taking crude oil(which is God given) refining it and making sure we start exporting pms and crude plus gas to other countries.

Or generating electricity and selling to other countries

India doesnt not have 1 drop of oil there economy is mainly dependent on IT, making apps, software etc

as we live in the internet age they are thriving

All the money stolen if it can be concentrated on making the country better but the nigerian ppl love themselves more than there country.

government is all about improving infrastructure and peoples lives by being a public servant but in nigeria, politics is all about personal enrichment and power.

until when all those stealing money in government are executed or given jungle justice nigeria cannot change

because the status quo will remain and it is favorable to those who benefit from it

Entrepreneurship seems to be the order of the day today, the press glorifies it, government officials put lots of emphasis on it as the only way out of poverty, its even a compulsory course for all university students. NYSC is all about it, from your afternoon lectures in camp, to your SAEED. But is it really worth it? Are they telling us the truth, or is it mere propaganda by politicians to give excuses for their failure?
Daily we are bombarded by happy ending stories of people who made it by starting up their business, we are told to emulate the likes of Dangote, Otedola, mike Adenuga. But the bitter truth is that not everyone will make it like Dangote. As a matter of fact the chances of Success is Very rare.
People who make it are the lucky ones, lucky in the sense that the have opportunities that others never had or will never have which they harnessed to their advantage.
Opportunities like capital, good location, skills, business climate, experience e.t.c. These variable are not things you have control over. Take for example Dangote started his business with just #500,000 (a huge amount of money during the 70's) given to him by his uncle Dantata (one of the richest men in nigeria at that time) who also groomed him in the tricks of business management. There are many people who have beautiful business plans out there, but no capital to fund them. Even when the capital is available, you don't any experience about the business climate of the business you are venturing into, its like a blind man crossing the highway unaided.
The truth of the matter is that not everyone is meant to be entreperneurs, if you believe in the determination, nothing-can-stop-me mantra, you might probably end up with a small food-stuff shop/kiosk business, or like the road side akara seller whose income would not be enough for you to start a family. If it were that easy, then our proffesors of business administration in our universitys, would have been top business moguls by now.
Truth be told, our politicians need to sit up! And make economic policies to would encourage investment and growth. If the economy is favourable, both entrepreneurs and employees, would be better-off.

Without entreprenuers there can be no jobs full stop.

maybe ur not thinking

if dangote decided not to be an entreprenuer he would not have created thousands of job
if adenuga decided not to be an entreprenuer he would not have created thosands

etc

Capitalism which is what nigeria operates lives on entreprenurship

China became the richest country in the world by its manufacturing entreprenurship

Sports / Nigerian Arjen Robben Signs For Liverpool by vodkat: 7:53am On Jan 23, 2016
iverpool sign 16-year-old winger Bobby Adekanye from Barcelona

Bobby Adekanye
The young winger has opted to continue his career in Liverpool's Academy.
Liverpool have signed 16-year-old starlet Bobby Adekanye from Barcelona on a free transfer.

Adekanye was born in Nigeria but moved to Amsterdam in the Netherlands when he was four and arrived at the Camp Nou from Ajax in 2011.

However, he was banned for playing for Barcelona after FIFA ruled the club had broken youth transfer regulations in order to sign him and imposed a year-long transfer ban on them.

As a result, Adekanye -- who has been compared to Arjen Robben -- joined PSV on loan but has now opted to continue his career at Liverpool.

The left-sided winger turned down interest from PSV and Ajax and wrote on his Instagram page: "I am very happy to sign for Liverpool."

The Dutch FA recently called him up to their under-16 side for the Algarve Cup back in February.

Let us earn forex by doing small exchanges from items in our backyards. Depending on oil for over 90% of our forex earning is a disaster we are witnessing. In all, vilifying other nigerians of different political and ideological leanings instead of tapping into the collective reservoir of our human capital is negating genuine effort at regeneration!

Price of oil will.go as low. As 5$ per barrell.especially when other countries start using shale techique to get oil.

We have a problem.
1. Weak Fiscal Policy and political structure.
2. Executing good economic policies.

I will only touch on 2 because the ruling party does not have the nerve to dismantle the fiscal structure we have now. Also so unfortunate the last one could not. In the next elections, we should vote for the guy that will stop handouts to states. The gain of just this single decision is too enormous to mention in this thread. Will create another thread highlighting this

I will go ahead with number 2. Solutions to number 2 start with a good plan (budget). Unfortunately we have started off in the wrong foot. The growth rate of a country depends on rate of saving and investment. For this purpose, budgetary policy aims to mobilise sufficient resources for investment in the public sector. Therefore, the government makes various provisions in the budget to raise overall rate of savings and investments in the economy. what I have seen so far in this years budget is not impressive. Hopefully next year will be much better.

Another example as regards to policy is curbing inflation rate. Look around you, you can hardly find anything manufactured in Nigeria. So what it means is that inflation is going to be in double figures because of a devalued Naira at 310 to a dollar. It's a bad policy to fix the Naira and not let market forces work. A good example to explain this bad policy is the way and manner we have handled our forex. Firstly, the entire policy to control our outflow was not carefully thought through. What we are doing is fixing the roof because of bad foundation. Or repainting the car and feeling good when your engine is about to knock. Bad precedence we have laid in the past 50 years. Keeping the right to set the dollar price exclusively to CBN is a recipe for disaster. It's only a matter of time and that time will be when oil is worthless. Do you know that the CBN gathers all our dollars and print Naira equivalents of these dollars. They flood this Naira in the economy and because the GDP growth is not equivalent to the Flooded Naira, inflation starts to kick in, the CBN the go ahead to reduce to cash in circulation by raising interest rate, selling T bills and even borrowing from bank at huge cost. Imagine! The simple solution to this is to let it stand on its feet. Every body source for your dollars and let your customers buy it at any price.

But wait a minute, the decision to do that is not so simple, the dollar will reach 500 Nairas, so politically, it will be suicidal considering the fact that 1 Naira was suppose to be of equal value to the dollar.

A true devalued Naira may be a solution to our problems. It will reignite the real sector. Manufactured good in Nigeria can now compete with foreign goods In Nigeria. Thousand of Jobs will be created. We will get better at it and even start to export. There is hope people.

That's the only way. For you to increase your outflow, you have to be able to sell manufactured products, resources like oil etc can not cut you in. To be able to manufacture competively with China, Germany etc, you will need

1. Technology
2. Fiscal policies, tax cuts import waivers on heavy duties etc
3. Most important, Infractructural development (1 Trillion US at least). This will include power, rail, roads, ports etc. unfortunately, we have squandered billions of hard earn forex that should have been used for this
4 Human Resource - STEM professionals, technicians etc
5. Strong Policing- strong police force, legal framework etc.
6. Strong Foreign policy

What do we do?
1. Can we as citizens reach out to our legislators that the budget should reflect the above and don't be passed until it is changed.

2. Can we also push for a well laid out fiscal policy

3. Can we also push for a policy that will ban all forms of commodities except heavy duty equipment from accessing forex from the CBN

4. Can we set a hard target for the power problem to be fixed. (Milestones included). All projects in the world have targets

5. We consume 40 million liters a day of PMS. Dangote refinery will do 10 million liter max. Can we rigorously push for 4 Dangotes to build refineries especially from the oil majors in country.

6. With just a 10% increase in GDP and 30% increase in manufacturing, 2.2 million barrel a day of oil we produce will not be enough for local consumption.

Came across the link below and I thought it might be interesting.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?sns=fb&v=xex7NAhTR_w

The growth rate of a country is dependent on manufacturing .

First of all nigeria needs to be self sufficient

All pms used in nigeria should be producded in nigeria.
From exploration to refining .

Things like rice should not be imported infact we need to export .

Alll this r common sense.

Electiricty shd be powered by gas plants which we have in abunfanxw
Solve this ones first and u create thousands of jobs.

Finally all politicans stealing money shd be given life sentence or executed like they did in china.

From common observations, the greatest proponent of the continued detention of kanu on the cyberspace have been the Southwesterners. Many times you hear them asking that kanu be hanged.

I think they are aware of the no-love-lost situation between the North and the East since the end of the war and want to exploit the big crack maximally. Hanging or jailing kanu illegitimately will plunge the country into a north vs East crisis that only UN peacekeepers can mediate and i'm sure that's what the yorubas are itching to see happen.

Many northern leaders like yerima and even the sultan have urged restraint and sensible management of the situation but the yorubas simply want him hanged. The East has nothing to gain from trusting or distrusting the SW but the north must watch it's back. A yoruba classmate told me he would like to see an Igbo vs hausa crisis while they watch as neutrals. Hands akimbo

Why are yorubas even more keen than hausas to get kanu hanged?

Some men are afraid of rejection while some other men are looking for rejection and they.get green light.

The man would be like "na so e easy"

Women r in trouble because most guys just want to fork and go and the girl who he sees as wife and spouse material is the one he will be with

which is 1 in 10

Meanwhile women are looking for love or wealth or both

Some women are good for gf only while some are good for as wife.

What guys want to know is how to differentiate green light from friendliness.

you are not using your brain...

Olodumare did not create what he could not control.. that is satan.. the god of Jew created satan... In Yoruba Mythology.. Olodumare is the God of heaven and earth..

Esu is not satan but one of his messengers.. Esu is olodmare's first law enforcer..

Now you see the difference ?

Again, have you ever seen king saudi or queen of England worship the same God via shrine ??

Now who is using his brain ?

The family of the queen have been known to be members of illuminati or free mason so who knows what they worship.

It's just like ogboni ppl

Yoruba or ifa needs to be reformed and the literature more clearer so.it don't become like another islam

Have u not heard the saying I created a monster.

Many bad boys like anini or shine Rambo could not be controlled by the parents.

The man who created kalashnikov tell me how he is going to control it once in the hand of an enemy

Eshu is a trickstar according to yoruba. There is a name for devil but it is also eshu. They bare the same surname

The God of the Yorubas - (Olodumare) is not the same God, the Jews & Christians call their god, Christopher Omodunmi.

Perhaps, you are the one who is acustely nescient and benighted about the history of so many Gods and so many man - made religious beliefs, Christopher.

For a start, you will never find an European Christian, whether Catholic or Anglican or even a believer in Judaism going to an African Temple or an African Shrine, bowing down to one 'Olodumare' and insisting that this Olodumare is the same as his Christian God, or Anglican God, or Yahweh Good. If they, the European Christians and Jewish Yahweh worshippers do not accord this kind of respect to the Yoruba God(s), why on earth should the Ooni of Ife, the spiritual leader of the Yorubas be their Christian and Yahweh Gods the same respect, people??
Can you now see the bizarre and somewhat ridiculous position the new Ooni of Ife has put himself??

As you well know, Yoruba traditional rituals and sacrifices surely demands so many secret commitments and orders, demanding blood from the the animal. 'Ojoba' connotes and denotes that the new King has eaten the preserved heart of the last King.

Now tell me, how do you reconcile the traditional rituals and traditions of becoming a king in Yoruba land with the texts of Christian faith??

Olodumare in yoruba is d supreme being, owner of the universe
, a spirit and omnipresent. He is everywhere and not in one location.

same thing the Jewish God owner of the universe.

different words same meaning.

just as stupid as saying omi is different from water.

my guy use u r brain

We r not taking of Ogun or sango
