Politics / Re: Emefiele: We Will Not Succumb To Intimidation, Desperation Of Hirelings - DSS by Watzy: 11:27pm On Dec 19, 2022
Thegracefulness:
Let me try to explain this whole issue in ordinary and simple terms. You can form your decision on this.

It all began when Hon. Kazaure Gudaji claimed N89 trillion stamp duties was misappropriated and diverted by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.

However, Garba Shehu, the presidential spokesperson, debunked this Kazaure’s N89 trillion missing funds claim, and said that it was “ludicrous that a member of the parliament would claim to be secretary of an executive committee”.

If an executive committee has been appointed by the president, the spokesperson would be in the know. But now, the said spokesperson is denying the existence of any such committe.

Stay with me.

Or are they alleging that Buhari is not in control of his government? That he could make appointments and his actual spokesperson would claim he did not?

Hon. Kazaure claimed the committee was secretly constituted by President Muhammadu Buhari, with Adetola Adekoya and him as the chairman and secretary respectively.

He said the appointment came in a letter dated 8 August, and he asked Buhari to set up the committee that included the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, Mohammed Wakili, a retired commissioner of police and one Mr Okafor, a retired staffer of the National Intelligence Agency.

Whatever it is, I’m hoping there’s some form of decorum and the president himself gets to make a statement on this and puts and end to it. Because it’s becoming disgraceful.

The president of the Central Bank of a country is being chased by the Department of State Security.
Do you know the implication of this?

We need to be careful of the figures we throw around. 89Trillion? How much is our budget? I mean Nigeria (as a country) budget for a fiscal year? It will be difficult for this country to grow because people (often referred to as CABAL) are always there to hinder any productive effort. While not defending the CBN Governor, whatever action that needs to be taken against him should not alter the monetary policy, not at least before the election. Lets him defend himself before the law but this policy stays for now, subject to further review after the elections.

Career / Re: Is Studying Engineering Now A Scam In Nigeria by Watzy: 9:33pm On Aug 29, 2022
trueSeeker01:
go learn work forget about school my grand pa was an engineer at big company in my state. his employer even took him to london to fix engines for them the old man did not attend any university may his soul continue to rest in peace

As comic as this may seem. This ops is stating the obvious. Go for practical engineering schools like IIT and others that offer engineering practicals. The practicality of what we teach engineers in today's university is not functional. We have electrical engineering graduates who cannot measure current with CLAMP ON METER or voltage with MULTIMETER. How can you then identify the root cause when there is an issue let alone analysing the cause of the issue.
For those of you still young and wanting to be an engineer, listen to the ops and watch as your success rate quadrupled.

PediakAuthor:
Here's Aba-made face masks, quite impressive. Without any iota of sentiment, the South-Eastern region of Nigeria has the human resouce capacity and the potentials to become the industrial hub of the Nation. Just that there are some internal issues such as sociopolitical disparities and other wailing challenges in the region.

However, Weldone...

Analytically, the only way for Nigeria to actualize a higher PPP (purchasing power parity) in the international market is to reduce importation and increase the production of certain competitive products... Our devalued Naira can regain its strength in the course.

Though many scholars could argue that those Aba-made products are substandard as compared to the foreign ones. But the closest answer to that is that; "Rome wasn't built in a day..." There's always room for improvement.

Remember the days of China Phones, now they have improved. And y'all know!

We need to start appreciating our local content products in Nigeria...

Good one #Aba. But we need to improve on our work environment.

Politics / Re: Abraham Amuta Rejects Offer To Be Freed By Boko Haram, Dumps Christianity by Watzy: 9:22am On Feb 03, 2020
agwom:
An ex-member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Abraham Amuta, yesterday allegedly turned down an offer by the Boko Haram insurgents to be freed and go home. Instead, the ex-corps member reportedly told those who went to the Sambisa forest to secure his release to go back home, saying he had renounced his Christian faith.

Amuta, a native of Benue State, who was doing his one-year mandatory service in Borno State, was abducted alongside a 58-year-old man, Moses Oyeleke of Living Faith Church in Maiduguri and few others, including a schoolgirl, Ndagiliya Ibrahim Umar, on April 10, 2019.

They were abducted along Gwoza road from Maiduguri on their way to Chibok to deliver humanitarian assistance.

Seven months after his abduction by the Boko Haram fighters loyal to Abubakar Shekau, Pastor Oyeleke was released in November 2019.

[quote author=joseph6071 post=86314644]The ban of tricycle and bikes in Lagos State has left so many pedestrians who depended so much on it as a means of transportation angry.

The ban which started on the 1st of February made both the riders and pedestrians to protest on the street of Lagos.

But one sight that caught the attention of many was the CMS busstop which is usually filled up with tricycles looked so empty as at now.

Good development but hope it's not a ticking time bomb to live the Keke riders unemployed. An hungry man can be very desprate.

I disagree. It brought fair play to football game. Gone are the days when illegal goals are scored. It works for a team today, tomorrow it work against the same team.

Great innovation to football.

VAR in itself is good. My query is the unnecessary interference. It should only be consulted when the Referee is on a cross road on some conflicting situations.
