O, oh! Seun that was insulting and it hurts undecided. Why did u have to use such language to me.

You know, ever since you started Nairaland the site has attracted many Nigerians cutting across a wide section of personalities, age groups and careers. The brilliance and simple nature of the site has made many like me a regular. You don't have to sound insultive 2 people when you've not gotten to know them.

Complaining about people posting risky business threads the business section should'nt now make you stoop low.

We respect you for your ingenious for creating this wonderful website. Don't loose it

Computers / Re: Which Graphix Pad & Pen (puck & Stylus) Is Best (available Where In Lagos/abuja) by wham(m): 8:29pm On Jun 08, 2007
@Kraftlord

U have a good knowledge of the concept of Vectors in contrast to bitmaps. I like that. What do u need the graphics tablet & pen for? Are u into animation or cartooning? I need mine for 2D drawings for now (and 3D later when I learn d applications).

I went scouting 3 days back in Abj. It was basically one make & model available in the computer shops. It was a genius with a 4x5.5" working area going for about N12,000 (G-PEN-4500). It was not the normal genius make we all know. I hope to get a more trust worthy make wit a 6x8" work area. But I might hav to fall back to the Genius if I dont get any. It didnt look too fake sha. Maybe I'm just being sceptical. I wish I knew someone who has used it and has a good testimony

I could start wit it and upgrade later. It seems there is a make "WACOM" that makes very good ones. But that's abroad. check out this web pages

Computers / Re: A+ Help by wham(m): 1:05pm On Jun 02, 2007
I had seen a good A+ text in one of the bookstores in Enugu Airport (Departure Wing)
But that was 2 years back. check CSS bookstores, they are in Abj, Port-Harcourt, Lagos and Kaduna, Akure

CSS, Abj branch, Bameda Rd, Behind Abuja Shopping Mall, Near Forreign Affairs, Wuse Zone3 09-5233551

CSS Bookshops, Apapa (Lagos), 10/12 Wreahouse rd, Apapa 01-5877732

CSS Bookshops, P-H, 50, Hospital Rd, P-H, 080233633, 08056049783

Kaduna 062-211601

Akure 034-244005

They have a rich stock of Computer books.

I also pray to be ready and write the A+ exam one day. There is a good book by Mike Myers on the topic (Published by McGraw Hill). Mike Myers also has an 8 CD interactive tutor on A+ Certification. I have them but they might not have up to date info (esp because of the changes in the computer world). I think they are 2000 or 2001 (b4 XP sha!).

I wish u th best. There has to be enough free materials u can download on A+ from the net by the way.

Computers / Re: Pls Help I Have A Problem With My Hard Disk Drive by wham(m): 9:31pm On May 27, 2007
My brother u can recover your data very much.

1st.     Make sure u do not copy any thing onto the formatted HDD. Do not put any new file on it till u have recovered all your data.

2nd.     Search for Majic Recovery Software Demo on the net and download it. The crack shld be available too if u search deligently

3rd.   U need to install Majic recovery and crack it on another system or hard disk with an operating system of course (that hard disk or system must have enough/adequate free space to back-up your lost files from the affected Hard Disk)

4th.  Slave your HDD to this new system

5th.    Read the instructions of Majic Recovery tool and use it to search and recover your files that went when u mistakenly formatted

NOTE :    Do not back-up your files/data onto the same Hard Disk that is affected while using Majic Recovery. Any new data
that is saved on the affected HDD b4 recovery is complete will erase the lost files FINALLY

GOOD LUCK !!!  grin

Dating And Meet-up Zone / Re: Be Re-united with Old Friends! by wham(m): 10:55pm On May 22, 2007
Hello! I had a set of twins as friends, Taiye & Kehinde Akinsoya, back then in ABU Zaria when I was little. I think they are out of the country now. I heard they moved to Minna at a time when their Dad was with FUT Minna. We all attended Samaru Shika Play group (Nursery) and proceded to ABU Staff School then. Kehinde had a chick called Mama as young as we were then in pri school.

Can anyone link me up to them?

@bebe2007

My friend is an Estate Agent but i wouldnt want to leave his number openly. Give me a number or email to text to. He would be more helpful both for location and price. Wuse II has good light. I cant say the same for Garki II.
Business / Re: Good Business Location In Abuja by wham(m): 11:02pm On May 15, 2007
Ehmmm, Wuse II would be good. probably near AMIGO supermarket. Thats if theres any shopping complex or line around there. Is she intending to open within abuja city itself or the other satellite towns? Garki II wouldnt be bad too. Its bustling with biz.

Impress her custom, ers , have good dressers (Disciplined and corteous ) and she wld never lack money and customers in abuja

Career / Re: Is A Third Class In Computer Science Useless? by wham(m): 10:09pm On May 13, 2007
Hmmmnnn!!! My guy, u read comp science, u have great skill and u are still waiting. last month two of my friends on different occasions were looking for pple with experience in .NET and Visual basic. The job was a contract job for a year or two (i cant rem). But they were not concerned whether the person even had a 1st degree. Jobs like that are available. Network urself well. Try and find out which of these computer application/progs are on demand (Not necessarily those Certifications o!). Then maybe one good complete certification to color ur Cv. THE SKY IS UR LIMIT BRO. I have a third class in Engr. but I wish I were u (with ur degree in Comp). Well my flare is in 2D/3d Animation and Graphix, and not all that programming and SQL stuff. I'm not waiting necessarily waiting 4 those narrow minded employers to talk me down in their so called interviews. I have to start something on my own and wit other sharp pple. Just have a good target. Check in the papers to see what coys req 4 Network administrators. Stick to God if u havent been walking wit him and ur life wld end up even better than pple u envy now (if u maintain focus o!). Cheers.
Career / Re: What Are The Career Options For A Mechanical Engineer? by wham(m): 9:17pm On May 13, 2007
I'm a Mech Engr. Grad too. this might sound silly but in a place like Abuja, with  mech Engr Cert I'm thinking of hooking up with some Benz mechanics to teach me some practicals on repairs and maintainance. I have some money  i plan to use to set up my on workshop in the next 6 mnths. Its not going to be easy at the beginning but by next year i'll have my boys, i'll have made a name  and i'll be smiling my way to the bank. Imagine people hearing of an Engr graduate mechanic in a big man town like Abj. My workshop will never lack costomers who will be ready to part with some very good money for very quality service. Cheers!!

NYSC / Re: Nysc? by wham(m): 9:06pm On May 08, 2007
NYSC presently is a ghost of what it was when it was established. The trouble and risk for the corp members is no worth the experience and patriotism.

The bicycle fee of about N800 which could buy a good bike then is still what they pay now, Imagine!!!

NYSC unfortunately and fortunately, serves as a big time employers to the high number of Nigerians, including the fraudulent ons (I'm still trying to conclude who is worse, corrupt Lecturers of these days or dirty NYSC staff).

Lets face facts, except u are not aware of the condition some corp members served (in very remote areas or conjested, expensive, high-crime cities), the employers of these poor young men and women either do not have the adequate Logistics and finance to support the scheme or they are swallowing it (with different schemes from all angles and cadres of the management)

For now, they are not saying anything abt scrapping. Personnaly, I must admitt, I would not call my own one year a waste cos I knew I had no choice so I made the best of the time and every oppotunity that came by. But thats just my own story. Some pple were posted to unbarable locallities.

Conclusion: The FG should set up a commitee to review the scheme, Then scrap it!!! (if it cannot be revived)
