no data, every search returns no record found, getting the site up is just 10% of the job, i hope the owners realize, as a visitor i'll only return if there's something in offering, a site like this needs regular updates , new data, et al |

Webmasters / Re: How Can You Prevent A Webpage From Being Saved? by wilkanah(m): 11:59am On Dec 27, 2006 |
@ sbucarrer Internet is a free environment. Internet is open source. You can NEVER prevent people from copying you documents on the web. Remember the good old PrtScn (Print Screen). tis funny u started with u can't do it and ended with tis possible. Anyway just an abservation: one time i tried to save some tutorial pages off the sun website but it didn't work; just crashed (at least with explorer). Got around it eventually (opera/firefox) but t got me thinking. I just tried it again Use this link with Internet Explorer: http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/helloweb.html If u get a different experience please share When you "Save As" it counts to 97% or so and then returns a "Page Could Not Be Saved Error" make sure u're using the "Web Page, complete" option. Curious, don't u think? |

obviously u dont have the information i seek but since u insist, i have liferay portal set up. i've deployed sample portlets (just to test ) on it and its fine. I need CRM and HR portlets because, this link would take u to a portlet vendor but they don't have what i'm looking for. http://www.adenin.com/PortletCatalog.asp i don't have time for word games, you either have the info or u dont. didn't find much on google. |
Programming / Re: Where To Buy Portlets? by wilkanah(m): 8:45am On Dec 20, 2006 |
Portlets are pluggable user interface components that are managed and displayed in a web portal. Portlets produce fragments of markup code that are aggregated into a portal page. Typically, following the desktop metaphor, a portal page is displayed as a collection of non-overlapping portlet windows, where each portlet window displays a portlet. Hence a portlet (or collection of portlets) resembles a web-based application that is hosted in a portal. Portlet applications include email, weather reports, discussion forums, and news. Portlet standards are intended to enable software developers to create portlets that can be plugged in any portal supporting the standards. This is off of wikipedia- |

Programming / Re: Cost Of Software Enterpreneurship Programme? by wilkanah(m): 9:10am On Nov 28, 2006 |
NIIT mid this year advertised a Software Entrepreneurship program. I had a peep at the curriculum and it doesn't focus on java or any particular technology but tries at best to introduce you to a wide range of technologies while at the same time it equips you with some business and managerial skills. course fee was 495,000 naira. i believe this is what the author of this thread was referring to. Along side this course they also advertised Sun Professional, Oracle Professional and Microsoft Professional programs. The entrepreneurship program doesn't detail into any one technology but just sort of skims through a variety of technologies. i don't recall in detail but i think there was java, .net, microsoft sql server, soap, some networking, and business and managerial courses. i know the course was for 9mnths and it was targetted at potential software entrepreneurs. By software entrepreneurs i mean people who are into the software business, not necessarily coders but sell software solutions blah blah. Probably have a team that develops why they run the business pay salaries and make all the profit. Of course they have to have an idea of the various technologies even if they're not pro's, i think tis clear enough. so this program is not for an intending coder in any one language. NIIT or any other IT school: i wouldn't write them off like someone did cos i know it always comes down to the individual but frankly i don't know many coders that had thier foundation in any IT school. tis always down to personal work and personal targets and all the experience. but i think an IT school does provide an enabling environment and if u can pay for the opportunity u still have got to make the most of it. SUCCESS IS A DECISION EVERYONE HAS TO MAKE FOR HIMSELF |
