We care:We have delivered food support and another material supports to our students We have been offering lectures online. In these difficult times, we are experiencing due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Rector's Office of Eastern Mediterranean University has launched an aid campaign under the title “We stand with our students against COVID-19” to cater for our students' various needs. Through this campaign, we aim to meet some needs of our students and also to give the message that we are with them in this process as the EMU family. EMU members of staff will contribute part of their salaries to the aid campaign. At EMU, we care! 3 Likes |

otabuko: This is an interesting research area. If you want to carry our research in Artificial intelligence, you must have fundamental skills in Machine Learning and experience with some programming language and algorithm to develop nearly complete detection methods. Specifically, Plagiarism detection methods can be focussed on either of these Cross-language-based, character-based, structural-based, cluster or classification-based, Syntax-based, citation or Semantic-based techniques. Then you have to select or develop which type of machine learning method you want to adopt. I have a friend working on that for his PhD in the UK but his focus is on AI-based algorithm for online fraud detection, same concept. Best wishes. 4 Likes 2 Shares |

At Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), we are doing great things: This is developed at our UNIVERSITY by our students and researchers (Engineers and Scientists) and tested perfectly for Green TECHNOLOGY......it will be mass-produced for on-Campus use Da Vinci has a travel range of 100 km on one full charge, making it possible to go Famagusta - Nicosia direction for the cost of just 1 Turkish Lira. The vehicle is a single-seater, designed and manufactured for the modern and comfortable driving experience goal for the passenger. "Da Vinci" is named after the painter, scientist, and engineer of the same name, Leonardo Da Vinci, who was much ahead of his time with his creativity and genius. It is the aim, to emphasize on the importance of creativity and thinking ahead in engineering, with this name chosen. It should be noted that, Da Vinci is the product of intense work and devotion from EMU students of EVDC, and not a product for sale, not manufactured from a private company. Updates on lectures for Students: Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Universities have been ordered to be closed to control Coronavirus spread in TRNC while maintaining #socialDistance. In order not to jeopardize the academic plans/curriculum, we have adopted an interactive online lecturing at EMU. All our students have been enrolled in the WEB-based lecturing systems provided by MicrosoftTeams, Zoom and our own in-house distance education app. So the online lecture, interactions, exams and quiz will begin on Monday. Students are able to join using their credentials anywhere they are, be it in the sea, on the mountain, kitchen, toilet and isolation or quarantined cells. Majority of the Universities in Turkey and TRNC are adopting the Online-lectures from Next week! #WewouldDefeatCorona@EMU 5 Likes |

Vicugw: Please remove your phone number from this thread. Leaving your number here, you will attract spams and fraudsters that will likely scam you. Graduate fee for the entire program (2 years) is in this range 2600-6700 USD. Most of the university admit a second class lower while just one or two universities admit third-class holder. You will need your University transcript, certificate and international passport. Admission for next semester starts from April end, you can contact me via email then. To study in Cyprus or any country abroad, ensure you have your full tuition ready and other living expenses. Jobs are scarce in all countries and particularly in Cyprus. You may find casual jobs while studying, this may pay just a few bills and may not be enough to pay your tuition fee. Some students are lucky to get a well-paid job but don't count on that. Cyprus be it south or north is good and designed just for studying due to its relatively lower tuition and living expenses. However, jobs after graduation are minimal. Best wishes 1 Like |

spotball: Admission for this semester is closed. Only certain dates are canceled for Turkish airline as means to control spread of Corona to Nigeria. Also, they have minimized their flights to other regions/countries not just Nigeria. For instance all flights from Iran, Iraq etc have been blocked from entering Turkey. OKTB still works if the flight dates does not falls to the canceled dates. Below is message we got from Turkish airline: 3 Likes

expertman: Ok...let me explain how work permit/residency permit works here and if you think you want to go ahead fine, just be careful. I have had work permits in North Cyprus for several years and I own my properties in NC for rental, so I will explain both work and property permits: Residency permit based for property owners: To apply for this, one must have a property at a particular threshold/value to be given. The applicant can buy property while still abroad and will be able to fly to NC with the original title deeds or the sale contracts. Upon arrival, the person can apply for 1-year renewal residency permit. Rules: --The property owner must prove monthly income equivalent to that of the current minimum monthly TRNC wage, which is 3,400tl (approx 600$ based on current exchange rate) or proves savings in form of verifiable bank statement equivalent to 12 times the minimum monthly wage (7200$) --If you are renting the property, you must prove income equivalent to that of three times the current minimum monthly TRNC wage which would be 10,200tl (1800 $ monthly) or proves savings in form of verifiable bank statement equivalent to 12 times the minimum monthly wage (21,000$). --The application cannot be done in proxy, meaning the applicant must be physically present in NC to get this residency and must show the original title deed (or registered rental agreement) and passport. However, the applicant can just travel down with these documents without issue. Work Permit: We don't have an open work permit as far as my knowledge spans and the regular work permit we have can only be verified by the staff/personnel that have access to the immigration portal not from abroad. Regular work permit: This may be granted for a period of 30 days to foreigners who have come to the country with a preliminary permit in accordance with the Law on Work Permits of Foreigners. To be issued a work permit: -- There must be a work/job that is offered by the employer --The present policy regarding foreign nationals who wish to take up employment in NC is that an employment permit is granted only on a temporary basis and for a specified position provided that no suitably qualified TRNC citizens are available. ---A foreign national seeking employment in NC must secure that through a local employer who should submit an application to the Migration Officer, Ministry of Interior, Nicosia. ---Before a work permit is issued, the employer must open social security and tax account and pay for this and then the work permit will be affixed on the applicant passport. If you already have a work permit you can fly directly and no need for any visa and also don't need OKTB...However, it must be genuine and verifiable. Why not ask the person to give you the website to verify the so-called open work permit and if you already have that open work permit send me a copy, I will speak with my contact at the Ministry of Labour/Immigration for verification on your behalf. Am just concerned and I hate to hear stories that touch the liver and kidneys.........SCAM is real and I am not saying the person is a scammer oooo am just saying be very careful. Best wishes in your decisions. 4 Likes |

expertman: Which one is Cyprus work e-visa? If you are referring to north Cyprus,we have only work permits not working visas. If you are referring to south Cyprus, if you have the work visa it allows you to enter Cyprus with the purpose of long-term residence and employment....so fly why need ok-to-board ? Ensure you are not getting scammed. Meanwhile I process OKTB but you must have all documents for verification including employment offer which I will verify before processing 1 Like |

solidworks: Leave of absence is a date fixed 1 year ago and not adjustable for individual students as it will offset university calendar. However, you can email emu registrar your specific case since you are master student unlike undergrad that takes many courses. In my class I have completed chapter 2 now and chapter 3 next for my undergrad student at EMU. So we can’t wait for individual students but my graduate student we just did first module 1 Like |
