We are back to the same issue of consistency!
Man utd and Arsenal dominated the league at a point, but they fell both in the league and in Europe at some point.

Madrid and Barca have been consistent for a long time and it's no wonder they have many league and champions League titles between them.

They didn't achieve this because the quality of opposition in Spain is poor, afterall Sevilla has been the dominant force in the Europa League and the likes of Villarreal, Athletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao have won the Europa League on some occasions and some have done well in the Champions League. You can't compare the quality and achievements of these teams with the likes of Leicester city, West ham, Tottenham, Arsenal who have won nothing in Europe in the last 20yrs.

So don't blame Madrid and Barca for being consistent and dominating their leagues and praise the premier League as "competitive" simply because no team has been consistent enough to dominate it. At least not since Ferguson's United and now Pep's Man city.

Who will challenge them?
Can Sevilla afford to buy a player of 50M?
That's what clubs like Aston Villa, Newcastle and Westham spent here like it's nothing, to strengthen their squads.
The truth is La liga doesn't generate much money, even the El classico that used to be their cash cow is no longer what it used to be.
On top of that, they have a lopsided sharing formula that allows Madrid and Barca to have the lion shares of the revenues.

Just look at how much Barca and Madrid have spent on flops alone, how do you expect other teams like Bilbao and Alaves to compete?
So it's not about consistency, it's simply because other teams don't have the resources to compete.

Like i said before, the quality of opposition is poor, that's why none of them apart from those two teams have ever won the champions league.

You see, you had to compare Leicester and Westham to Sevilla and ATM to score a point.


Sevilla, a supposed "top 4 team" in La liga, nearly never qualifies from the ucl group stage, but would instead drop out to the Europa league.
