NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 18 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria did not sell anything yesterday. Their portfolio position is shown below

Another positive day for the market, I see a lot of people being lured into the market, this is very good for all of us. With the probability of the week closing on the green side, I see the newspapers screaming with loud headlines about the gain for this week, by extension next Monday is likely to be another positive day as more retail traders enter the market to buy (big money still sitting on the fence, we will probably start seeing the big money start unfolding their plan by Wednesday, MPC decision Should have been over by then).

Market breadth favored the bulls yesterday with 23 gainers and 15 losers, NSE all share index loss for 2019 is now reduced to 2.70%. Also on the minimum subscription level you are entitled to ask us for analysis on any stock 2 times in a month.

Our subscribers should still stick to our trading plan, which is still valid till end of next week or when we send other signals.

For Friday 18 January 2019 projection for the Nigeria All Share Index, expected High is 30,687.69 Low at 30,388.05.

Wish everybody happy weekend.

From this year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. They are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. Especially when they are trading at a very low point that our maximum loss is within 15% to 20% range. For this I will be posting more in our twitter handle.

This will be a permanent future of my post to reduce some comments which may prevent the people that understand the system from confusion by people who have not followed how this started. My comment for today for anybody who doubts the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months.

2. The fund will still hold some equity, the terms of service states this. NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 17 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria for now is not doing heavy volume. Yesterday the fund sold units 435,023/676,575 units of Dangote Sugar and Oando respectively.

Market breadth was 24 gainers 16 losers, the all share index rose by 1.07%, loss for 2019 by NSE All share Index now 3.09 from a previous high figure of 6.66%. This is a good performance looking at how the year started, but let us remember that big money is just sitting on the fence for now?

Basically, what is important is positioning for the earnings season and avoiding big risk purchases.

For our earnings play, Transcorp will be on my top list for now.

For Thursday 17 January 2019 projection for the Nigeria All Share Index, expected High is 30,667.19 Low at 30,128.02.

From this year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. They are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 16 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria sold only Dangote Sugar 15,000: Oando 105,000. Likely to be waiting for the outcome of next week MPC meeting to determine the next move.

Market breadth was 21 gainers 13 losers, the all share index rose by 0.58%, temporarily we have the short term in weak bullish mode All share Index loss for 2019 now 4.11%, while the longer time frame is still bearish. With the way buyers have shown up in the last two days (closing figures are at the higher ends of our expected daily ranges), bears have been temporarily put under pressure, therefore loss or gain at the end of the week likely to be minimal. We cannot fight the market, but we keep following up. However, knowing the higher time frame trend, I will not be an aggressive buyer in this market.

Our subscribers to stick to our planned buying prices.

For Wednesday 16 January 2019 projection for the Nigeria All Share Index, expected High is 30,218.36 Low at 30,010.75.

MSCI NIGERIA MOVEMENT-

Good that the raw data is available to the public. However, our subscribers get more value. We can tell you what is the total for each equity MSCI Nigeria has sold this year and some other hidden information like what was sold yesterday in percentage terms for the day, percentage for the week, even percentage for the month, definitely we provide value. Again this MSCI thing is just one of the tools we use, may I give it 5% in our total tools arsenal.

We are happy to be a pioneer in the use of the data to follow up what the big funds are doing.

I am happy that we are following up. But we all know if it is not from Target it cannot be on target!!! grin grin grin

Thank you all.

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 15 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria sold only 2 equities (details for subscribers only) and has just taken up 16,981,341units rights of Lafarge.

Market breadth was draw 11 gainers 11 losers, but the all share index fell by 0.45%, close of today will tell us what the week will look like. Big players are not expected to do much this week as a major news event (MPC) is on the way.

Market still expected to trade sideways/lower for the day. Likely some news readers will buy early in the early trading season, while the real players are expected to close the day downwards.

Our trade selection still remain same as yesterday (details of entry, exit/stop loss available to subscribers only)

For Tuesday 15 January 2019 projection for the Nigeria All Share Index, expected High is 30,077.10 Low at 29771.10

DAILY STOCK GUIDE FOR 14 JAN 2019- NIGERIA STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT 14 JANUARY 2019

The All share Index closed on a positive mode on Friday, but with a “caveat”. What will probably happen by opening of market today is that price will rise generally and then start falling later in the day. Tuesday will be a good day to make our purchases on any of these equities at prices or slightly lower prices. This is not a time to buy breakout at higher prices. List of our stock picks for the week/recommended entry prices (available to subscribers only).

MSCI selling has stopped technically for now. Although 3 stocks from the fund's portfolio were affected by disposal of some quantities.

For this week most of the Institutions are likely to operate in “safe Mode” in view of the impending MPC meeting for 21 and 22 January 2019. Generally for this week, I look forward to a down/flat market.

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 9 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria selling still on, but slowed down, seems not yet in buying equity for now. What I can deduct from the high volume trades yesterday is that the selling bug has caught up with some other big players in the market. As a small player in the market, the best I can do is just fold my hands and continue to monitor the market until there seems to be some calm in this “selling storm”.

Market breadth still negative (12 gainers Vs. 28 losers). The closing level of 30036.15 was well below the expected figure of 30,203.66. All share Index have lost a total of 4.44% for the year 2019.

For Wednesday 9 January 2019 projection for the Nigeria All Share Index, expected High is 30,349.80 low at 29,861.23. Bearish sentiment still in control.

AFTERNOON UPDATE - MARKET CLOSE OF 8 JANUARY 2019

The fact that the market closed on the negative is no news. However, the quality of the losers give course for concern.

We need to restrain ourselves from being too wise. Except you have deep pockets like the institutions, just stay on the sideline this week, the bears are on rampage!!! But let us remember that the stockbrokers still need business, you may think the losses are not that heavy on daily basis, but alas big loss day may show up any moment from now, let us tighten our seat belt for some turbulence landings.

I was reading a book, that the big money sometimes prevent the market from going down too rapidly, so that the dumb money or retail traders will not run away from the market It is like the rat that is eating your leg while your are sleeping and then blowing some breeze on you so that you don't feel the pain immediately. We should be getting wiser (did we see the trap for the general public called _ _ _ _ _ Fertilizer!!!, they want to Fertilize the loses for the poor public)

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 8 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria opened the week depleting their holdings and started withdrawing cash from the portfolio (USD483,806.86 cashed out yesterday).

The bears are back in business with a very negative market breadth of 34 losers against 40gainers yesterday, current market situation is risky. NSE All share Index movement is showing negative (-ve) 3.28% for 2019. In terms of looking for support level, one just need to forget this week, to see any support showing up about 4 more working days more should be a probable horizon. Current, market is like no go area, but we should be happy for the later opportunity that the bears will create (as long as we do not jump the gun to enter when the bearish momentum is still high).

For Tuesday 9 January 2019 projection for the Nigeria All Share Index, expected High is 30,653.28 Low at 30,203.66. The sentiment is for the market to trade in red for the day.

From this year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. They are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 7 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria took over the market last week painting the All Share Index RED. Somehow there was some marginal increase in the value of equities traded, meaning few additional buyer stepped in to prevent the Index falling to a level lower than the closing figure of 30,638.9 (still at lower range of our expected figure of 30654.51).

Price action is still telling us to expect a down trend our nearest support level of 30,492.79 levels may be broken by in the new week. For the retail investors, wait a little to see better opportunity or use our bonanza no loss system, there is a good candidate available at this level with the closing figure of Friday (if interested send me a mail).

For Monday 7 January 2019 projection for the Nigeria All Share Index, expected High is 30,747.34 low at 30,553.82. To gauge the sentiment of the market, we will consider if the closing figure is close to our expected low or high.

From next year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. They are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 4 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria still selling. Total loss in the Nigeria All share index for 2019 now 2.10% as at the close of business yesterday.

Price action is still telling us to expect a down trend our focus is now fixed on the 30,492.79 level. For now I will slow down on purchase of equities as further fall in prices may continue today.

For Friday 4 January 2019, expected High is 30,983.28 low at 30654.51. To gauge the sentiment of the market, we will consider if the closing figure is close to our expected low or high. Going by yesterday’s closing price, the closing figure of 30,771.32 was below our projected low of 30945.53 indicating that the market was bearish.

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 3 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria continued with the selling yesterday just like what happened on 31 December 2018.. With the few numbers of orders/value currently being traded, the market is telling us that there are few participants in the market for now. Many people are still on holiday. The bearish overall trend is likely to continue today looking at the fact that MSCI Nigeria sell orders are likely to be in the market, with the low level of activity in the market, the natural course for the All Share Index is down, except new money starts coming into the market.

Yesterday the market closed in the region of our expected lower range.

For Thursday 3 January 2019, expected High is 31,314.32 low at 30945.53.

On the Price Action side, the range to watch is still the 32477.99 and 30,492.79 level.

From this year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. They are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION (NSE STOCK MARKET WEATHER REPORT) - FOR 2 JANUARY 2019

MSCI Nigeria in surprise selling as at 31 December 2018. For today’s NSE weather report, I will say that the sky is cloudy and the probability of having some pockets of losses on the opening day for 2019 is very likely. To tell us that one can be hit by surprise when least expected, personally I thought MSCI would have wait till 2019 before starting to sell.

Price action, using the monthly chart is telling us to expect the down trend to continue if the index closes below 30,545.20. I am an optimist in my expectation, but the reality is telling us the up move is likely to be under attack by the bears around the level of 32,477.99.

For Wednesday 2 January 2019, expected High is 31,656.02 low at 30979.45

Wishing everybody, happy New Year and a prosperous 2019.

From this year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. They are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. Especially when they are trading at a very low point that our maximum loss is within 15% to 20% range. For this I will be posting more in our twitter handle.

1. Due to the fact so many new people are coming to this forum and may not know this use of following the “big monies that move markets”, I will be indicating why/how to use the information.

Thus no matter the condition of the market, it will not liquidate to Zero, unless the fund is exiting from the particular Country involved. This is an equity fund investing in the Nigeria market. The date displayed may not be the actual date of purchase/sale of equity (this is legal and allowable under the regulations guiding funds operations in general).

3. You cannot bear losses like the fund. The pocket of the fund is too deep. Therefore, as an individual you are not suppose to be in the market during the stock market crash. Before or during the crash, reduce your holding.

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION - FOR 28 DECEMBER 2018

MSCI Nigeria is still saying, why change a good team!!!. No movement in the portfolio yet after the last one of 18 December 2018.

28 December 2018 was a fairly panicky day in the market. All share index back to the old trading range area with 30,542.86 acting as support. I expect the trading range to still hold for the last trading day of the year.Price action for the daily and weekly charts are as shown below.

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI POSITION - FOR 27 DECEMBER 2018

MSCI Nigeria is still holding tight. No movement in the portfolio after the last movement on 18 December 2018.

Price retraced yesterday to 31692.63, level still above the closest support of 31409.15; what this portends is that some people are going to panic and start selling, despite the fact that the market breadth was positive 30 gainers against 16 losers. However, from our indicators we have not reached the level to start any panic, we will only start initiating trader protective action if our support level is breached either by candlesticks price action pattern (that is what I have used to derive the figure above) or by our indicators.

Extending the above, if you want to buy that good equity today is likely to give you the opportunity at a price not too high, a lot of money waiting to latch on to the temporary rally are already exiting the market.

For Friday 28 December 2018, expected High is 31,916.67 low at 31,518.94

From next year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. They are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT /MSCI NIGERIA POSITION - FOR 24 DECEMBER 2018

MSCI Nigeria is still holding tight. No movement in the portfolio.

Price action has broken out of the range with a definite statement. The volume of money in the market is abnormal.

For the “Maga” stocks, the situation where only buyers are in the market is now prevalent. It is such that for these stocks, you cannot get them to buy. Thus the highway for the all share stock index to keep appreciating at least in the short term is like a ten lane highway, little obstacle on the way. For those of us, who have incurred losses on these stocks with shareholding structures about to change, don’t worry if you cannot get them to buy at least you are sure that your losses will reduce.

For Thursday 27 December 2018, expected High is 32,364.80 low at 31,171.43

From next year, I will start talking about companies that are likely to be takeover/merger candidates. There are many companies that will fall in this category and will be a worthwhile research. NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT EXPECTED HIGH AND LOW - FOR 21 DECEMBER 2018-

Market closed on the 20 of December on the positive side but with negative breadth, 17 winners 23 losers. Closure level of 30,802.9 still within the trading range.

For Friday 21 December 2018, expected High is 30,901.60 low at 30,605.49

Let us keep our money for now; except there is real bonanza (20 kobo level on some profitable stock, I am keeping my cash), I am on holiday mood for now. I must celebrate. We will take up matters by next year, the index can close anywhere, we have already boxed the expected range.

We still have one merger play on the line, but our fundamental people can go and do the research, technically the bears saying saying, let us all enjoy on this stock time for celebration no fighting: Merger-with-Kalambaina-Cement-Company-Limited/42257, we are now rushing for mergers https://www.proshareng.com/news/Stock%20%20Analyst%20Updates/CCNN-Notifies-on-Proposed-Merger-with-Kalambaina-Cement-Company-Limited/42257, don't be greedy buy the dips only. NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT/MSCI NIGERIA PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT - AS AT 19 DECEMBER 2018-

MSCI portfolio still on recess as at 19 December 2018.

The market is still in a range. The 31,321.77 and 30,542.86 levels are still in play. Please this is not the high low for today , I have already posted projected high and low for today yesterday in the evening time.

Let us continue to exercise caution in the market, there is still some money in the market as the battle in the trading range continues.

Complement of the season to everybody. For me there is something to cheer, for this recent positive movement (whether is recouping our losses or a fresh gain) in the market, I have decided to pull out some money from the to enjoy this December!!!

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT/MSCI NIGERIA PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT - AS AT 13 DECEMBER 2018

MSCI Nigeria portfolio had some movement on Wednesday 13 December 2018 as shown below.

For Friday 13 December 2018, expected High is 30,679.72 low at 30,511.77

Yesterday was a down day, but looking at the market breadth we can say it was approximately a draw game with 20 losers and 21 winners for the bulls and bears respectively. There is no need for panic in the market, the market is down already, I do not like making predictions: the market is likely to trade in the range between 33577.11 and 27,395.73 looking at the monthly supply and demand zones.

As we enter the period of the holiday period, there is likely to be some bonanza available (have you notice how some people just bid low on our trading platforms just to get stock at ridiculously low prices). For me I will join that gang any moment for now and try to get a bonanza on good equities that had already been beaten down. Some of these bonanza purchases I will be making will be made public for whoever is interested. Okay let me give an example that is on my watchlist, I will just put a buy order at not more than NGN1.65 for Caverton (this is not a recommendation), whether it get filled or not, I don’t care I just want to play the rogue trader.

My comment for today for anybody who doubts the efficacy of following the fund is to look at my recent recommendations for the past 2 months.

2. The fund will still hold some equity, the terms of service states this. Thus no matter the condition of the market, it will not liquidate to Zero, unless the fund is exiting from the particular Country involved. This is an equity fund investing in the Nigeria market. The date displayed may not be the actual date of purchase/sale of equity (this is lega and allowable under the regulations guiding funds operations in general).

3. You cannot bear losses like the fund. The pocket of the fund is too deep. Therefore, as an individual you are not suppose to be in the market during the stock market crash. Before or during the crash, reduce your holding.

4. If you are seeing this type of data on MSCI for the first time. You may need to verify the figures. Go to my previous posts (https://www.nairaland.com/yok/posts), you will see the various sources where the data can be verified.

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT/MSCI NIGERIA PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT - AS AT 12 DECEMBER 2018

MSCI portfolio moved on Wednesday 12 December 2018 as shown below.

For Thursday 13 December 2018, expected High is 30,738.85 low at 30,578.46

Looking at the price action of yesterday’s Allshare Index Chart, the price action is indicating an inside day, if the inside day breaks out of Tuesday’s range to the upside, upside space for movement is limited. If it breaks to the downside, the downside may have more momentum!!!

Caution: This is for information purpose only. Data used are assumed to be correct. However, you may want to verify the data from an appropriate source. Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan).

NIGERIA STOCK MARKET GENERAL COMMENT/MSCI NIGERIA PORTFOLIO MOVEMENT - AS AT 11 DECEMBER 2018

MSCI portfolio had some movement on Tuesday 11 December 2018.

For Wednesday 10 December 2018, expected High is 30,811.27 low at 30,584.52. Yesterday was a weak bull day, let us seen what today will offer? Again I will say this is not a forecast, but just like a gauge for the strength of the bear/bull for the day. I can sense some positive sentiments for the market, although this may not last long.

Looking at the price action of yesterday’s Allshare Index Chart, the price action is indicating that the current direction is down in general.

Also, Institutions can afford to suffer big losses without going burst compared with an individual, you cannot follow them blindly (you need to at least have some knowledge/your own plan).
