Politics / Atiku Never Demanded For Looters Account to Be unfreeze. - PDP by Zenzi: 5:30pm On Mar 02, 2019
The People's Democratic Party (PDP), has denied news of it presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar making demands of unfreezing looters accounts under instigation as conditions to step down he legal battle against President Buhari’s re-election. The party made the statement through a press release.

The fabrication being peddled by the Buhari Presidency and the APC that the people’s candidate, Atiku, is making some demands of President Muhammadu Buhari, is an absolute falsehood and outright lies.

The PDP states categorically, without mincing words, that Atiku Abubakar had not, and will never, make or accept any condition from President Buhari regarding the rigged February 23, 2019 Presidential election, which he Atiku clearly won.

However, let it be known to President Buhari and the APC that Atiku and the PDP are standing shoulder to shoulder with Nigerians in this collective determination to take back the stolen mandate and we are not ready for any form of negotiation with anybody on this matter.

Our party and candidate remain committed to the huge sacrifices made by Nigerians in ensuring our collective victory as delivered at the polling units across the country.

We are mindful of the pains that Nigerians are passing through since the subversion of their will at the polls; we are sensitive to the expectations that millions of compatriots place on our shoulders in this struggle and we will never let Nigerians down.

We have all the authentic results from all the polling units as well as forensic evidence of manipulations by the APC and INEC. We will bare them all at the tribunal and the court will give justice to Nigerians.

We shall devote every energy necessary to reclaim our mandate and have Atiku declared President, in line with the will of the people as delivered at the polling units on February 23, 2019.

Anything short of this is not acceptable & no amount of false reports, connivance, contrivance, harassment & fresh attacks on our leaders, including the DG of our Campaign, Bukola Saraki, whose residence was besieged by security agents last night, can alter this resolve

Politics / "I Am Ashamed As A Nigerian". - Atiku Reacts To #electionresults by Zenzi: 1:12pm On Feb 27, 2019
The People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the just concluded presidential election, Atiku Abubakar has rejected the outcome of the election which was won by President Buhari of the APC. Atiku stated these in a statement issued today 27th February, 2019. Read full statement below.

I thank the Nigerian people who trooped out in their millions to perform their civic duty this past Saturday. The patriotism of Nigerians is heartwarming and affirms my oft-repeated statement that we are brothers and sisters born from the womb of one mother Nigeria.

With regards to the Presidential elections that took place on February 23, 2019, it is clear that there were manifest and premeditated malpractices in many states which negate the results announced.

Other News: Reno Omokri Attacks Dele Momodu Over His Tweet to Atiku.

One obvious red flag is the statistical impossibility of states ravaged by the war on terror generating much higher voter turnouts than peaceful states.

The suppressed votes in my strongholds are so apparent and amateurish, that I am ashamed as a Nigerian that such could be allowed to happen. How can total votes in Akwa-Ibom, for instance, be 50% less than what they were in 2015?

Another glaring anomaly is the disruption of voting in strongholds of the Peoples Democratic Party in Lagos, Akwa-Ibom, Rivers and diverse other states, with the authorities doing little or nothing and in some cases facilitating these unfortunate situations.

The militarization of the electoral process is a disservice to our democracy and a throwback to the jackboot era of military dictatorship.

In some areas of the country, such as, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Imo states, troops deployed for the elections turned their guns on the very citizens they were meant to protect.

This is condemnable and should not be associated with our electoral process in the future.

I am a democrat and there are democratic avenues available to present the truth to the nation and the watching world. Already, many international observers have given their verdicts, which corroborate our observations. I am sure more will come in the coming hours and days.

If I had lost in a free and fair election, I would have called the victor within seconds of my being aware of his victory to offer not just my congratulations, but my services to help unite Nigeria by being a bridge between the North and the South.

However, in my democratic struggles for the past three decades, I have never seen our democracy so debased as it was on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

2007 was a challenge, but President Yar’Adua was remorseful. In 2019, it is sad to see those who trampled on democracy thumping their noses down on the Nigerian people.

Consequently, I hereby reject the result of the February 23, 2019 sham election and will be challenging it in court.

I want to assure my supporters and the entire Nigerian people that together, we will not allow democracy to be emasculated.

I hope and pray Nigerians will someday summon the courage to defend democracy. That is the only way we can move away from being the world headquarters for extreme poverty.

Politics / Senator Ndume Celebrates Saraki's Defeats, Says He Played God. - Dailytimes by Zenzi: 1:45pm On Feb 26, 2019
The senator representing Borno South at the National Assembly, Senator Muhammadu Ali Ndume, has expressed jubilation over the reported defeat of the Senate President, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki at last Saturday’s national assembly polls.

“Maybe this will remind Saraki that there is God,” Senator Ndume, who won his senatorial reelection, told newsmen on Monday evening in Maiduguri.

Senator Ndume said Senator Saraki played God during his tenure as Senate President, noting, “once you try to play God, God will react; Saraki played God, and he has now seen how God reacted.”

Other News: At last Saraki Accepts Defeat, Wish Winner Best.

He said “Saraki took things for granted; this is the consequence of taking things for granted.”

Reacting to PDP’s rejection of the presidential and national assembly results, Senator Ndume said: “there is no result yet; there is only collation of results; so I don’t know what PDP has come out to reject.

“I am surprised PDP has shown desperation about this election right from the beginning; there is nothing they can tell Nigerians; in a free and fair election, they can’t win.

” PDP complained on issues; APC campaigned on issues, ” he said.

Politics / PDP Cautions Buratai To End Insurgency And Stop Dabbling Into Partisan Politics. by Zenzi: 8:46pm On Feb 20, 2019
The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has cautions the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, to refrain himself from acts or actions that will suggest in any way that the military has become an arm of a political party.

The party stated this through a press statement signed by it Publicity Secretary while responding to the statement credit to the Chief of Army Staff regarding President Buhari directives.

“Gen. Buratai’s allusion to the people’s candidate, Atiku, as well as his threats to officers and ranks to execute the unlawful order by President Buhari to participate in the electoral process is an aberration of our laws and a recipe for crisis.”

Other News: Two Suspected Armed Robbers Arrested in Ogun State. (Photos)

“Atiku spoke on the side of the law and wishes of Nigerians and cannot be intimidated by any body no matter how highly placed.”

“Gen. Buratai is counseled to note that the loyalty of the military is to the state and that the President lacks the powers, under our laws, to deploy soldiers for the conduct of elections.”

“Our party urges Gen Buratai to concentrate on his very demanding assignment of protecting the territorial integrity of our nation and ending insurgency rather than dabbling into partisan politics at the risk of our national cohesion.”

“It is imperative to state that by trying to drag the military to participate in the February 23 Presidential elections, President Buhari plots to suspend our constitution, assume the position of an emperor, trigger unrest, subvert our electoral process and derail our democracy.”

“The party directs President Buhari to the judgment of the Federal High Court, Lagos on March 23, 2015, wherein the court, presided over by Justice Ibrahim Buba, directly outlawed the deployment of troops in the conduct of elections in our country.”

“President Buhari should also avail himself of the subsisting judgment of the Court of Appeal, which on February 15, 2015, held that the President has no powers to deploy soldiers in the conduct of elections.”

“The PDP further counsels President Buhari and Gen. Buratai to end their rationalizing of military option, as the courts have summarily dismissed their arguments that soldiers are needed to guarantee peaceful elections.”

According to the court, “the time has come for us to establish the culture of democratic rule in the country and to start to do the right thing particularly when it has to do with dealing with the electoral process, which is one of the pillars of democracy.

In spite of the behaviour of the political class, we should by all means try to keep armed personnel and military from being a part and parcel of the electoral process.

Politics / Buratai Asks Atiku To Apologise For Asking Them To Disregard Buhari Directive. by Zenzi: 12:48pm On Feb 20, 2019
THE Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Buratai, Wednesday, picked hole in Tuesday’s statement attributed to the presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, asking the Nigerian Army to disregard President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive they they deal ruthlessly with ballot box snatchers in the coming general elections.

Buratai, who said Atiku’s statement was most unfortunate given that he was in the highest level of government in the country before and knows fully that the Nigerian Army in particular and the military, in general, are meant to obey the orders of the Commander-In-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces to the latter, said they will treat Buhari’s latest order with exception.

Other News: Patoranking Post with his G-Wagon. (Photo)

To this end, he asked the former Vice President not only to withdraw the statement but to also apologise for attempting to invite the army against what he termed as “constituted authority” it was meant to fully obey.

Speaking at a meeting he held with the Principal Staff Officers, General Officers Commanding and Brigade Commanders ahead of the polls billed to commence this Saturday, Buratai warned politicians and their supporters against testing the will of the army, insisting that those found to have violated the law, will be treated in line with President Buhari’s directive.

Although he did not categorically mention the former Vice President’s name, his description of his target pointed to the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate. The army chief disclosed that personnel attached to retired Army Generals, especially those who have become politicians will be withdrawn just as he said no political actors will be allowed army escort.

He warned officers against playing partisan roles, saying those with such feelings had up to Friday, February 22 to resign. Full details of the story coming shortly…

Politics / President Buhari Expresses Disappointment At INEC. by Zenzi: 1:58pm On Feb 16, 2019
President Buhari, has expressed his disappointment over the postponement of today's election by INEC. President Buhari stated this in a message to Nigerians. Read full message below.

I am deeply disappointed that despite the long notice given and our preparations both locally and internationally, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) postponed the Presidential and National Assembly elections within hours of its commencement.

Many Nigerians have traveled to various locations to exercise their right to vote, and international observers are gathered.

Other News: PDP Closes all forms of Campaigns Midnight yesterday.

INEC themselves have given assurances, day after day and almost hour after hour that they are in complete readiness for the elections. We and all our citizens believed them.

This administration has ensured that we do not interfere in any way with the work of INEC except to ensure that all funds were released to the commission.

We now urge INEC to ensure not only that materials already distributed are safe and do not get into wrong hands, but that everything is done to avoid the lapses that resulted in this unfortunate postponement, and ensure a free and fair election on the rescheduled dates.

While I reaffirm my strong commitment to the independence, neutrality of the electoral umpire & the sanctity of the electoral process & ballot, I urge all political stakeholders & Nigerians to continue to rally round INEC at this trying national moment in our democratic journey.

I, therefore, appeal to all Nigerians to refrain from all civil disorder and remain peaceful, patriotic and united to ensure that no force or conspiracy derail our democratic development.

I have decided to move back to Abuja to ensure that the 14.00 hrs meeting called by INEC with all stakeholders is successful.

Politics / President Buhari Seeking To Pull Down Nigeria. - PDP by Zenzi: 8:40pm On Feb 11, 2019
The People's Democratic Party PDP has described APC, President Buhari and Elrufai statement of threats as worrisome. The party stated these in a press release signed by it Publicity Secretary. Read statement below.

The incessant threats by the Buhari Presidency and the APC to Nigerians and the international bodies that are committed to peaceful 2019 general election is worrisome.

The threats by Buhari BCO to the US Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb. W. Stuart Symington, as well as attempts to demonize the envoy for his country’s caution against hate speech in our electioneering discourse by desperate politicians is to say the least, embarrassing.

Other News: Ag. IGP, Adamu Condoles with Odugu Blessing and other Victims of Jungle Justice.

Only on Sunday, President Buhari at his campaign rally in Zamfara state made incendiary comments and encouraged his audience to join the APC in its planned resort to violence and self-help in the 2019 general election.

It is instructive to recall that this direct threat by the BCO is coming days after the Governor of Kaduna State, and APC chieftain, Elrufai threatened that members of the global democratic institutions working towards peaceful elections in our country will return in body bags.

It is indeed worrisome that having realized that they have no chance in the February 16 Presidential election, the Buhari Presidency and the APC are seeking to pull down our country, pitch her against the global community and return us to a pariah nation status.
