@alphadoor please did you do a skills assessment with ACS?

my degree was assessed as comparable with an aqf degree bla bla in Australia but not my experience.i don't understand the result.does it mean I am expected to nominate another closely related occupation or should I appeal?

Does it read anywhere that.......... The following after May 2010 (or any date) is considered to equate work at an appropriately skilled level and relevant to you ANZSCO?

30 June 2017 - ACS contact to advise me to switch my application to RPL
04 July 2017 - ACS RPL Assessment submitted for ICT Business Analyst (ANZSCO 261111)
14 July 2017 - PTE A (20 Points)
25 July 2017 - ACS Positive Assessment Received with 10 Points for experience
25 July 2017 - EOI submitted with 70 Points
02 August 2017 - EOI submitted with 75 Points

They just cleared all their 75pointers niyen. Guess it will drop to 70 points and lesser invitees as time goes
My worry is: if 75 pointers for just 2 rounds have collected 620 slots out of 1574 slots, leaving 954 slots for 70 pointers from March!! Slots would be exhausted by 1st round in October. Aswear down this 2611 no be am at all; but as it is my profession, there is nothing I can really do about it.
Over to Baba God!

@ZoeW

It seems you are covered with your 70 point with diploma claim as earlier stated by alphadoor. Lots of update on immitracker from yesterday.

We now see 70 pointers invited.

In all this I still see no 261111. Fingers crossed sha. I have filled EOIs for NSW and VIC

@Zoew, can you please educate me on how you were able to claim 10 points for experience? I am of the opinion that work experience is counted after qualification, which in this case is October 2014, or is there something I'm missing?

Hope this answers your question.

Congratulations zoew. 70pts already grin
IMO, please research very well on the non accessed B.SC degree points claim before you update tour EOI with, while the excitement of boosting your point is welcomed, you do not want to shoot yourself in the leg also by over claiming.
You took the RPL route because your degree was not related to your occupation.
Am not sure how this works but please do your research very well pls pls ... $3600 no be beans oo..

Meanwhile am sure you can shoot for state nominations while waiting for ITA.
also 70points stil guarantees you an invite but longer waiting waiting based on the competitive nature of the NOC

I suggest you should create separate EOI for 189 and 190 (s).
Thanks bro! its now $3670 sef. Not to mention dependants. Lol. I go use brain o.

I didnt know I can create multiple EOIs sef. hmm. Let me try that.

Let me start by congratulating you on your postitive assessment. I said here sometimes ago that people should do away with ICT business analyst if possible. I saw some information here that I think I need to correct. You cannot claim point for your university degree because it has not been assessed by the ACS. While waiting for my visa I have seen two people been refused for over claiming points. Any qualification not rubber stamped by the appropraiate assessing authority will not be accepted by DIBP. I'll advice you fill an EOI and wait until you get an invite for 189. Alternatively go the 190 route, you will be considered for the first or second invitation rounds by NSW for example. 70 point is such a good point for state nomination. I wish you all the best.
Hmmm.... conflicting information everywhere o! Thanks for the advice sha. I think its better to be safe than to be sorry. I would use the 'diploma' like that.
But is there anyone that has scaled through visa application just using a certificate which was not assessed by any body to claim points for education? It would be good to know 'cos this is a very interesting topic

@ZoeW, In my opinion, i will advice you go for state nomination depending on the states that sponsor the nominated occupation, reason being that VETASSESS might take a while, and they do not assess degree in isolation. the only way they will assess your degree alone in Point test assessment is if you have been referred to them by a particular assessing body https://www.vetassess.com.au/skills-assessment-for-migration/points-test-advice (i stand to be corrected oh)
Thank you. I have updated my EOI and selected NSW. I even think am sef, to spend $230 for VETASSESS and wait for at least 4-6 weeks for additional 5 points? It doesn't seem worth it. Make I carry my 'diploma' dey go!! grin

Finally, after what seems like an eternity I have gotten a positive assessment from ACS for ICT Business Analyst (ANZSCO 261111). A big thank you to Azy123 and Alphadoor for your help. God bless una!!

I got 20 points from my PTE done 2 weeks ago (after a battle with IELTS) so we are good to go. EOI submitted.

But as we all know in this process there is always one k-leg or the other so house please advice me: Since I went through the RPL route, ACS did not assess my degree, rather the assessed a professional qualification which I have as follows:

Your Certified Information Systems Auditor from Information Systems Audit and Control Association completed October 2014 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a Major in computing.

This gives me 10 points instead of 15. So I have 70 points with a break down below:

Age - 30
English - 20
Experience - 10
Education - 10

Let me inform the house that this ANZSCO code is very competitive and people with 75 points were not invited last round. Do you think I should get my degree assessed by VETASSESS? How long does it take on average? Or should I wait it out till number for this ANZSCO drops? (How long would that take?) Abi to do state nomination? I am just confused right now.

Hoping for ideas guys. Thanks.

the hustle is taking a new turn; DIBP made changes to waiting/processing times for SC189 @ 8months and 11 months minimum for 75% as well as 90% of application being processed respectively, update as at 20 July,2017( for the month ending June 2017). Now the long wait continues.......... undecided
....... still some people got grant in weeks even when it was 4 months and 7 months for 75% and 90%. So that shouldn't be our worry; na to get the invite be the koko now. smiley Leave them to write what they want.

greetings to everyone, please i need your help (especially for those that have assessed with vetassess) and advice on a very serious issue.

Before the new MTLSSL and STSOL list was released in April i had already put in my EOI for state nomination visa 190 for the occupation PROJECT BUILDER. Vetassess is the assessing body for this occupation. I got a positive outcome for this occupation way back in January. My points breakdown is:-

Age:- 30 Points
Qualification:- 15 points
English:- 10 points

but when the list changed, the occupation project builder was only restricted to the visa 189 rather than 190, but i don't meet the minimum points to apply for the 189. . . . . . .
I do agree with Mabeline1. Attempting the english test again to get 20 points should solve your problem. Good luck.

whats the update on your assessment with ACS
Its been a real windy process. After 2 contacts from my CO to resend documents lost due to the site upgrade, I was told to pay $50 to convert my application to RPL last week as my degree has insufficient ICT content but I have sufficient experience. I just submitted this yesterday and my fingers are crossed.

If you diction and accents are pure, you may try PTE-A, will be faster than remarking( listening is highly objective, so I doubt if you will get a kick up on listening plus it will take close to 6 weeks for your results to come back).
Whatever sha, if you're not in a haste, you may try it, but I sincerely doubt you'll get a bump up in listening ( sorry if I sound pessimistic, just trying to be factual).

I am yet to submit. By God's before they resume Tuesday morning work in Oz i would have submitted.

@ZoeW I have 3 sample RPL for Your friend guide. But i need to take permission from the person that sent it to me. If she says it is ok i will let you know.

Also your friend should maximize the RPL opportunity. They will deduct 6 yrs it is better if she can get reference letter or statutory declaration of work done prior & during university days so that all her experience from day of graduation from surv & geo can be used to claim points 10 points. This can save her a lot if english test stress.

As far as ACS is concerned It is in ur hands.
Thanks so much. I also sent you a PM request. Abeg help sisters out o! We need help.
God bless. smiley

Let her assess as other spatial scientist under SSSI (ANZSCO 232214) and if she has any 6 months plus one year IT experience in gis. In short try researching this route. Obviously she needs to bag 20points in PTE or IELTS. and not claim work experience.
Thanks Laazo. She hasn't worked a day as a surveyor or anything remotely associated with "spatial". Would this not be risky?
Though she already has 20 points from IELTS and 30 points from age.

Just an update: ANZSCO 232214 (Other Spatial Scientist) is now assessed by VETASSESS while ANZSCO 232212 (Surveryor) is assessed by SSSI

Unfortunately her years of experience is not enough for an RPL approach, She will require 8yrs of experience in that role for a positive assessment, this is because her degree is not ICT related and she does not have certifications that ACS recognizes.

But it states if you have Non-ICT diploma or higher then you require 6 years and if you have no form of tertiary qualification then 8 years experience is required.

As at today, none that I know of but some people are familiar with it and someone is currently working on one .

I will like to know more abt your friend
Does she have any certifications?
How many years of IT experience does she have?
What's her current job role?
If you know anyone that is familiar with writing please hook us up so we can get some tips.
She studied surverying and geoinfomatics engineering at unilag but works as an IT auditor/IT project quality assurance at one of the big four accounting firms for almost 7 years
certifications: Oracle SQL expert, CISA from ISACA.
Would RPL fly? cos skills assessment doesn't look like it would be favourable.

thanks
