I honestly think that the federal government needs to create a special force, to be code named special antikidnapping and other emerging criminal squad. The rate of kidnappings and banditry is just too much, and the damages are just too far reaching. Many of these criminals especially in the north operate in conjunction with local traditional leaders and other ordinary folks in their domain. Such that the moment a visitor or somebody new is seen, the populace recognises him and the bandits, though may not be there, but would be aware because of their wide chain of surveillance and network around their villages and domains. Some months ago, it was reported how two young orphaned girls getting set for marriage were kidnapped and subsequently released after the payment of hefty ransoms. Up till now, those young ladies are still traumatized and the marriage they were preparing for then has fallen through. infact as it is now, one of the ladies was defiled leading to her being pregnant.
There are countless stories of woes and trauma inflicted on lawful citizens across the country by these heartless things called kidnappers and I really really think that no Nigerian man, woman or child deserve to go through this ordeal
