An interesting example is sheraton hotels land owned by a family that kept it in their generations for profit, and Ayinke house a hospital donated to Lagos state dedicated to women in delivery in lagos named after mobolaji Bank Anthony's mother,( both on the same street) named mobolaji Bank Anthony in ikeja. Imagine how much sheraton family has made till date, imagine how many lives Ayinke house has saved.

Till today individuals are not donating such facilities for saving mothers at birth despite the high rate of maternal deaths in Nigeria. However expect that a clown will come one day and say the name of the facility is not good enough for some reason.

Yorubas honor the legacy of great people and we don't forget our benefactors

To cure the collective migraine of , ahem , the YORUBA life antagonists , the late JOHN RANDLE that the museum is named after was a yoruba philantrophist and just one among the very first medical doctors from west africa to graduate from a british university . His father was an OYO born liberated slave settled in sierra leone . We know this info will only increase the migraine caused by the anti-yoruba malignant tumor eating away at their brain [ that also caused their inability to pause and verify ] , but who cares about the condition of one less sewer rat ?
Next , they'll be frothing from the mouth when a cultural center in Ogun state is named after the ADUNNI Olorisha herself SUSAN WENGER ! And their grandfather's name is Paulinus !

You got it!!! All his signature buildings and structures are totally different from a typical government buildings. See the Oshodi interchange, even though I considered it an over built and other of his legacy structures. His Structures are more of arts and aesthetically appealing than normal building

Don't Ijaw answer English name. Even Crowther was an English name and it did not make him less of a Yoruba.

I am sure you were one of those that rooted for GRV. Is Rhodes -Vivour a Yoruba name?

You intentionally left out Gbadebo from his name, snake🤨

The John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos ‘pops with colour and sound’ in a dazzling departure from the colonial model
Interest in Yoruba heritage has peaked among young Nigerians over the past 10 years and “that’s what the Randle Centre absolutely plays into”, according to Rea.

“Even today, we find that Yoruba culture is influencing the world in all sorts of ways, with Fela Kuti taking it out of oriki singing tradition into a fusion of west coast American jazz. The notion of – for example – salsa, that is in origin a Yoruba dance movement that was taken up in Brazil. You now find Yoruba cuisine in London and New York. There is real sense that Yoruba culture needs more visibility.”

Absolutely brilliant and complements Freedom Park very close to the centre. That axis of Lagos Island is a tourist's paradise and visitor's delight in Lagos.

I have read that report earlier today and it's nice to read it again here. Thank you for sharing OP.

May God bless Lagos state and the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Check my signature for free stuffs!
