Some parts, not everywhere.

Yesterday, I went out and noticed that there is free mass metering going on in areas where they have connected to geometric.
If the part about free prepaid metres is true, that is commendable.
Paying for prepaid metres when you already paid for electricity connection to your house or facility is a fraud many people are still not complaining about.
You pay ₦85k to have prepaid metres when you would eventually be paying monthly tariff.
Though 8 heard that in the North p
It's like the GSM companies asking one to pay for a separate application for billing you when you use their network, after buying their sim card and buying a phone.

I really doubt Aba power is affected by NERC regulations and tariff. Aba power is 100% owned by the private sector.
The officials of aba power said they are under NERC regulations and tariff.

Oga write a letter to NERC. They will take the matter up.
Re: How Abapower Is Overcharging Me by iamclime(m): 10:43am On May 06
Whenever you make any complaints to any disco, ensure you use email and always copy the NERC. They will respond better when they the NERC is involved. Speaking from experience.

I have made several complaints to Abapower customer care and they have not resolved this, that’s why I am bringing this out to the public.

Abapower placed us on the wrong band, thereby overcharging us, which is extortion. My district is Ariaria district under Ukwa 33 feeder, Enyimba transformer We are on prepaid metre. I previously complained about the 95 naira per unit they were charging us because the power supply in our area is poor, only to check a week later to see that they have increased the charge to 102 naira per kwh. R2SB-NMD is what is on our receipt, which is a wrong classification.

To paint the true picture of power supply in our area, I took down records from Sat 27th April to 3rd May 2024. Sat 8 hours supply, Sunday no power, Monday 3 hours supply, Tuesday no power, Wednesday 45 minutes supply, Thursday no power, Friday 1 hour. Out of 168 hours, they only gave us power for 12 hours 45 minutes of power supply in a week, which is not up to 10% of 168 hours. This means the average supply per day is around 1.7 hours a day.

The lowest band category by NERC is Band E, which is a minimum of 4 hours a day but we are getting an average of 1-2 hours per day and are being charged same rate as those in Band B.

Is 1400 overcharging?

It takes lots of courage to shoot someone

geometric power only covers some area in aba not everywhere. I'm not from aba or Igbo land but I got the explanation since, please listen very well or read very well. I even read few minutes back here that those area covers by geometric power are receiving free meters

What is now your complain? As a non MD customer you are required to pay more for unit. Like in Abuja 1400 for Unit will give you 6.2KWH as Non MD customer.

1. What is the tariff rate for the different Bands under their franchise?

2. On the NERC website, all Band A feeders for 11 DISCOs are listed. Why is APL missing?
https://nerc.gov.ng/media/nerc-approves-new-band-a-feeders/

Sure, NERC regulates the power industry in Nigeria. However, NERC does not have the powers to fix tariffs for private entities.

The Nigerian power industry is transiting from service-based tariff plus government subsidy to cost reflective tariff. Geometric will buy gas at premium rate to run their turbines so why should they subsidise cost of kWh to its end users?

Cost reflective tariff indeed. Ogbon a ti ko Eran je. Awon Ole, a je Ogun, je'ra

My area is and we have at least 20 hrs electricity everday. Though we're yet to get meters. But they're doing free mass metering rn for those already connected to geometric
