The church I do attend in calabar, announced, not once or twice.
Please give a responsible offering, don't give below 50 Naira.
If your offering is below 50 Naira, then don't bother giving.

Reason for the stipulated amount: The Pastor will always say, "The envelope you are holding is not a regular paper envelop. It's tarpaulin, branded with the church name, as you can see it's expensive. So let your offering be costlier than the envelope.🙂

I have not witnessed it but I hear it happens.

Any gathering that does it in the name of church offering is an entitled beggars association disguised as a Church.

So, people who cannot afford up to 50 Naira should not give offering? What happens to the morals of the story of the widow's mite?

E tire me o!

As for building offering, the church will say, don't give less than 100 Naira.

They'll now coat it with the bible verse that says, " I will not give to God, what will cost me nothing"

He'll say, Jesus was watching the offering box while they were giving, that's why he saw the woman give all that she had.
So they encourage you to give all you came to church with, that it, empty your pockets in church and get blessed.
Give and it will come back to you in good measure and running over.
So, it's better to give than receive.

Humans are easily manipulated to believe what everyone is believing, meanwhile you can just stop and think.
Funny things happen on this earth.

All those nonsenses will stop when those who call themselves full-time pastors find work or go into trades and stop depending on offering money.
