The coastal road as an alternative road will reduce stress on the internal roads thereby making them last longer. New communities will also spring up along the coasts leading to more economic activities and depopulation of already overpopulated internal urban and rural areas. How about travel time reduction? The advantages are endless.

Do you also know that tinubu appointed his son in-law as the head of federal housing authority.

Do you also know that tinubu facilitated the sale of eni oil assets to his nephew that is the CEO of oando.

And now you seyi tinubu as the board member of contractors running this coastal highway project

Nigeria doesn't have the financial weawithal to finish up this project, if we spend half of that amount in servicing and refurbishing existing roads, then this country would rank among the best in the world in terms of road network,it's totally unreasonable to spend that much amount on a single road when this country is currently neck deep in debt

This is one of the red flag or sign of this controversial project. No due process on the actual cost, pattern of funding and abuse of government provision in the award of public contracts. No competitive bidding.

This is what you get when criminal minded people are in government. Meanwhile, this construction is alleged to be awarded to Hi-Tech a company owned by the notorious Lebanese- Chaugoury brothers who helped the late Sanni Abacha to laundered Nigerian money.

Meanwhile this same Chaugoury is an a long time political ally of Bola Tinubu. So the well discerning Nigerian can see the connect. Dave Umahi will end up being the fall guy here. Same way he built an economically unprofitable variegated colour Airport in Ebonyi state.

Unah too get had mouth for this app...

South South people are so happy because of the coastal road that will be constructed and they have not hidden it, South West people are happy because the road will be constructed. The Northerners are not worried about it and have not said anything. But you see South East, they are very bitter because of that road. Why?
please do not sensationalise and tribalise this issue, does the naira have different face value across the different regions of Nigeria, until we realize that the problems of this country have gone beyond tribe and religious, it would be difficult to even begin the conceptualisation of the problems of this country talkless of addressing it. Divide and rule policy of politicians have taken hold of so many people in this country, and obviously you seem to be totally enmeshed in it

always try to read and understand. Premium time don't criticise, rather, sane Nigerians don't as well. What they asking for is, why will they award the contract to a single company, that is a friend to Mr president without any bidding competitions from other construction companies and how did they came to the figure of the project funds. Even Lagos-ibadan express way that is not far, two contractors are working on it.
Lol!

Go.read my posts.....more coming. Tinubu will keep enriching his boys. I said it long ago. He will do outstanding projects and cover grounds, but he will.set his boys in all areas that you can't beat him again. Go ask Bode George, he will give you a comprehensive lecture. grin

And mark my words, he will use the law to back his actions. People like Yemi Osinbajo did it for him in Lagos...and there are still others doing it now.

So, don't complain. You never see anything. Mine is that they should just build the infrastructure. Yes, they will be so rich...but let them.just put things in.place. I have nothing more to say.

If you want to challenge him....go.to court. But I assure you that, he will beat you hands down. Yoruba may own everything in Nigeria very soon. Mark my words. Tinubu na master hijacker. I laughed when hausa followed him. They don't know who he is. Except he doesn't finish his 8 years. See...more to come. He will make Lagos a super nation. This is the legacy he is trying to leave behind.

If you think Nigeria is Lagos where Tinubu will just pick someone and start teleguiding him from his bedroom, then you don't know much about your country. Ask OBJ how far with Yaradua. Everything baba did thinking he was doing Yaradua a favour was reversed within the first 3 months with lots cheers from the north. Tinubu does not even speak Hausa!! If that road is not completed or at least close to completion by the time Tinubu's tenure expires, verily I say unto you, that project will be very difficult to see completion especially with the shady nature of its award.
You are the one who is naive.

Leadership is about building a network of followers. Is OBJ a leader? Nope. He led Nigeria in the 70s and he had no legacy left behind. He was giving another opportunity in 1999, he messed up again. Go and look at Tinubu of Lagos. He has more influence than Jakande sef. He is still there. So, it is not about Nigeria..but about the person.

Let us wait and see how the project goes. That was how they said Lekki toll gate was impossible. That was how they said Lekki airport and seaports aren't possible. They even mocked Eko Atlantic. It was conceived when he was there over 20 years ago. And the project is almost finished.

Guy, I am not a fan of Tinubu, but I have learned so much from him. I pick good things from him, and filter out back stuff.

My personal take , I don’t think there’s any project in Nigeria that’s transparent even if it’s an open bid , they’ll still award the contract to who they want .
If you criticize this project you should do so too to all the projects across Nigeria.
Picking which project to criticize will make it bias , develop countries still face things like this ,
EU chairlady Ursa is been accuse of some COVID shady deals , no continent is perfect, let’s say no human is perfect but some are more transparent than the other that’s the difference.
To me as long as you execute the project in a place like Nigeria I’m ok with it , because In Nigeria we’ve leaders who receive money for project ending up doing nothing and still working freely .
By international standard of corrupt practices all past Nigerian leaders should be in jail I don’t know who you support but you did because you seen he’s a lesser evil or preferable but not perfect.

I support the project because Lekki deep seaport , Lekki bridge and 2nd Niger bridge was done through that way and it worked . The benefits outweighs the disadvantages.

First of all, let me make it clear that you supporters of APC have enabled the lowering of the bar and standard of governance in Nigeria since your party took over in 2015. Suddenly you guys now have clarity of reasoning and understanding of how things work in Nigeria, and you are ready to give benefit of doubt at every turn in which questions are raised about governance issues. This was not so before 2015. You guys were anti-corruption and change agents then and every report of government ineptitude was usually met with disgust by you guys.

Secondly, it is a lie to claim Lekki seaport and Lekki bridge were constructed that way. Both projects were PPP and Lagos state does not have a kobo especially in the seaport. As for the bridge, it is less than 2km in length and heavily tolled. I can bet that 80% of Lagosians have never used that bridge. 2nd Niger bridge was bidded for and awarded to Julius berger since the time of Jonathan. So there is no similarity whatsoever in the mode of execution for those projects. Lekki bridge is more or less run like a private business. Are you saying a 700km federal road that has seen private businesses demolished will be run like a private enterprise when completed? That will even make it worse than initially envisaged.

The issues being discussed are germane to the sustainability of the project more so that it is most likely it will exceed this present govt's tenure. If you fail to understand the issues but jump to defend just because the President is your favourite politician or kinsman, then you are not doing any good for Nigeria or the project

Let us investigate your claim that OBJ left no legacy behind in the 70s. The place called FESTAC in Lagos today was built by Obasanjo regime. So was National theatre, National Stadium and the NNPC which basically feeds the nation today. OBJ built the first refinery in Nigeria in PH. Yet you say he has no legacy. What exactly do you mean by legacy?

In 1999, he brought revolution to telecoms in Nigeria and that phone you are using to type is made possible because of his efforts. Yet you say he has no legacy. He built 16 thermal power plants all over the country in his 8 years. Yet you insist he has no legacy.
Lekki seaport is a private investment. Same with Eko Atlantic. You guys either go claiming private investments as legacy of Tinubu or you go claiming the works of his predecessors. Are you by any stetch saying those investments would not have come to Lagos if Tinubu was not governor? Lagos had 2 seaports before Tinubu. Lagos had Banana Island before Tinubu. You guys just mix things up. If Tinubu was gov of a state like Osun that has limited private investment exposure, it is obvious you guys will have almost nothing of note to point as his achievements.

My point which you have not refuted is that Nigeria is not Lagos. OBJ tried same thing with Yaradua and failed. The North are the most power hungry part of the country. If you think a Northern president is going to be saying Yessah to one man in Bourdillon, I tell you that you know next to nothing about your country.
