Anyone with a working brain knows that Lagos used its advantage as a former capital to have leverage above others.

Yarimo who is from Iragbiji in Osun state will be claiming Eko o ni baje.

The same way Rivers use it own advantage as an oil producing state to have leverage above others so what is your point ?

With your comment one can easily tell where you from n why you are full of hate for Lagos. In bid to sound intelligent you ender being the most foolish person on Nairaland today.

In your next life when God you gives you an advantage like Lagos you should abandon that advantage n show the world how much foolishness you must have inherited out of irredeemable bigotry n chronic hate for Lagos n others.

Gala sellers and two by two shops?

Dangote Refinery alone will swallow Alaba and Ladipo

So many tech companies owned by Omoluabis will drown the GDP of your five plots

Calabar use to be federal capital even before Lagos Abuja is currently the federal capital.
Why are they not topping the list? I will only agree with you if you say Lagos is topping the list because it is the commercial capital of Nigeria.

Who dey teach una history?

Calabar was never the capital of Nigeria at any point. Protectorate and country is not the same.

Lagos was capital of Nigeria from 1914 to 1991, thats 77 years.

Lagos already had electricity, telephone, tram, railway, banks, bridges, roads, street lights, houses, port, big economy etc as at 1891. That was long before British annexed Northern Nigeria, South South and other parts of Nigeria and even before the amalgamation of Nigeria in 1914. Even long before your ethics group enter Lagos.

Where did the money come from to develop Lagos as at then?

Rather, it was because other part of Nigeria were too unprofitable as at then, the British had to merge Lagos and SW with other regions to sustain and develop them. British used Lagos money to develop Nigeria. Facts.

Without Lagos and SW money, other regions will be like sudan.

These are the inhabitants of Lagos in 1891 when all these developments were already available in Lagos and sw while other regions were still fighting British in their enclaves.

Aks can overtake Rivers to come second. We can also close the gap with Lagos.

When the BUA refinery is done and more industries arrive Ibom FTZ, we'll likely overtake Rivers.

The day Ibom deep seaport will come on board, we'll close up with Lag. Let's show them how leadership is done. I trust Umo Eno to fire up Aks this 7 years.

One day Akpabio will become president and we'll have our seaport.

A terrible statistics my friend. GDP stems from investment (service providers, local manufacturers, etc.) in the country as a result of foreign and local investors.

I think everyone is into trade (importation) though the Igbos seems to be doing more. By the way, the import business is killing our local currency

Lagos state was Never former capital
Just one of the Five Divisions of Lagos State was the capital not the whole state
When the FG left many parts of Ikorodu Epe and Badagry were not on the national grid and had no electricity

It has not been capital for over 3 decades and was nowhere near this in 1999

In 1999 the IGR of Lagos state was 6 billion naira a year

The plan was for Lagos to die
The national Stadium, Federal secretariat National theatre and a lot more were abandoned

If it was by capital then by now Abuja should be leading in GDP with all the purpose built design and investment
What was the status of Lekki when the capital moved to Abuja?
What about the flooding in Victoria Island that is now Atlantic city. Should that not have been built by the FG?

Was it former capital that made Dangote put his refinery there? or the Privately owned Lekki Deep sea port ? Or the Free Trade Zone?

You can continue to be bitter and envious it changes nothing
