If we truly follow the cyber crime act as last modified 2015, many of these youths behind social media anonymity, would be in jail.

The rule is clear and simple, do not make comments about issues you can't defend in person online. Misinformation causes substantial and significant damage.

Freedom has limits, where one personal freedom ends is where another individual rights begins and people reserve the right to their personal liberty and freedom.

You can't just go online and talk sheet about people just because you can buy data. It's hi time we begin to sanitize the society. Unsolicited and unverified Intel and personal attacks is fast taking over social media.

Do not make claims about people you can't defend

It's about that time. The amount of fake and unverified news that blog or whatever spreads, is something else.

Why detain him incommunicado for so long if they have any substantial evidence of wrongdoing?

Should the remedy for defamation not be civil damages instead of criminal prosecution

Whatever the reason, the law says the Police cannot hold anyone for more than 24 hours before charging the person to Court. Law enforcement officers should not be law breakers.

The state is stronger than propaganda and mischief.
The problem with you guys is that you think an arrest is a violation of rights.
An arrest is an arrest and he will face trial if found culpable.
If Nnamdi Kanu can be put in a lunch box for over 2 yrs, who is Ojukwu?
MKO won an election and ended up in prison.
OBJ was a prisoner.
Shehu Musa Yar'Adua was jailed.
The state is a monster.
Choose your battles wisely.

Nobody can muzzle you if you have empirically verifiable PROOF not hear say! If he has that, with a sound lawyer, he is home and dry!

It cuts both ways you know. There are those for the lack of law feel they can wake-up and just say anything that crosses their mind in the name of free of speech but just a casual scrutiny and you will know it's baloney! And yes, there are those who will use it to cower many into submission but the backbone of any submission is objective PROOF!

If you see how rampant social media has been awashed with blackmails, you will agree we need to tame the societal menace we have on our hands. This however is more inclined towards checks in society. Criminals should be in jail and I have zero apologies for that
accepted. I have very low tolerance for social media bullying.
I have been a victim of fake news.

But I'm talking about this case in particular. If this powerful person who was allegedly the victim of fake news has issues, he should sue FIJ and not use the police as a band of suppression. Held 3 days incommunicado?

FIJ board of trustees had gone to the police yet se police didn't invite anyone over the clarity of their claims but picked up the journalist commando-style.

When government agents are accused of corruption, the least the public should get is clarity not police

Was he ever invited by the police when the allegations were laid. If no, all the people involved in his illegal abduction and forceful detention should have their badges taken and sacked. That's impunity

That is if it was in a country where there is rule of law , this was tantamount to kidnap imagine 3 whole days ,
believe you me if not for Fij's private investigator , I wouldn't even want to imagine the worse

Lawless Nigerians will always support lawlessness. Leave am make him dey talk crap. Even if what the journalist said is false, aren't they supposed to sue him and the case be settled in court? Him being 'kidnapped' by the police is even more lawless than whatever they said d guy did.

ask your master why they haven't charged him to court yet.

Ask your master why the claimant hasn't died FIJ yet.

Ask your master for proof because FIJ mentioned the very restaurant in Abuja that they claim the government agent transferred public money to

I think they should refute the claims and allegations publicly instead of using police to intimate the reporter.

For 3 days the police hasn't yet sued or arraigned?

Common, you can be this blind and bold

Is it so hard for you to figure this things out? Like it's not rocket science now! If his right has been infringed upon instead of only pandering to the media, why not do the needful. Approach the courts! Is it so hard? Ask the court to mandate the DSS to produce him!

And what's with the master master talk? Anyway this is something that rolls easily off the tongue of a slave wink!

I'm tired of explaining this to you! Hmm...he was arrested and those who arrested him are not willing to take him to court (what has my asking those who arrested to take him to court going to change). The next line of action should be that his employers should do the needful now-Go to court.

You can rant all day online and nothing will happen if you don't take legal action. Hope you learnt something new?

1. What has been "ashamed" got to do with this discourse?
2. Thief? How now? Where?
3. Compelling him? How? Do you know what that word means bro?
4. You just made a fool of yourself bro!
