After sleeping with a prostitute in Gaza and cheating on his wife, the power of God still came upon Samson! Judges 16:1-3

After many romps with his unmarried mistress, Delilah, the power of God still fell on him many times ! (Judges 16:4-21). Many people don’t know that Samson was not married to Delilah!

In Judges 14, we learn about Samson’s wife, a woman from Timnah (a Philistine town).
Samson saw her and desired her as his wife. Despite his parents’ objections, he insisted on marrying her.

She eventually betrayed him by revealing the riddle, leading to Samson’s anger and vengeance against the Philistines.Judges 14, 15
In retribution, the Philistines burned Samson’s wife and her father’s household. Judges 15:6

The critical question is can the power of God be falling consistently on a serial fornicator!

Why would God give a male fornicator so much grace, soft landing and leeway but ask that a girl who is not a virgin on her wedding night be stoned to death!

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Romans 6:1-2

Why are there different standards in the old and New Testament?
Would Jesus or the apostles of the New Testament make Samson a Judge or leader of the people ?

“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach.” 1 Timothy 3:2

The God of the Old Testament appears to be different from the God of the New Testament!

Jesus and the New Testament is the bedrock of Christianity and every true Christian must hold tightly to the teachings of Christ and the apostles! They are enough for you!
