For Nigeria to work, the federal and state governments of Nigeria should build labs, and experiment centres where every first-class graduate of higher institutions shall be employed. Their job should be to think and develop new things in their field. @ARISEtv @SaharaReporters |

stevnwigw1:U mean a brain storming center that would be dominated by South Easterners? ... No na nigeria can't allow that Such centers must have quota system which defeats the aim Best way for nigeria to work is a) restructure into 6 federation ... Each ethnicity is allow to vote which region they want to join b) let each region grow at their own pace .. If you want to elect drug Barron or empty head Islamist or separatists that won't be anyone's business We have 6 presidents serving one year each as official president It's not hard to do but This would free all the shackles Nigeria has placed on some people... So let us suffer like this it's better 1 Like 2 Shares |

helinues: Bros, are you sure you attended a tertiary institution? I know that Nigeria is bad, but quote me anywhere - it's almost impossible to get a first class in a public university in Nigeria if you are not intelligent. Some lecturers will even tell you that nobody can make an A in their course and they mean it! You guys must think that first class is something the university looks at your face and gives you on the day of graduation. Funny! First class graduates, for schools that use 5-point CGP, are students who never got a GP less than 4.5 from the first day they gained admission to the day they graduated. 2.1! Yes, you can manoeuvre your way to make a 2.1, but not a first class! It's foundational reward of excellence! You will have a few B's in your results until you leave school. The rest will be A's. As for what the OP suggested, in STEM (the drivers of innovation), those first class graduates only have theoretical knowledge of their disciplines. If you put them in research institutes, they will achieve nothing. So, Nigeria needs to pump in a lot of money into STEM for students to learn the practical side of it. Studying STEM (especially engineering and IT) is like a waste of time in Nigeria. You cannot give what you don't have. |

helinues: Let me tell you how an ideal world works Jobs are categorised into private and public sector jobs. Who deserves to get it in public sector? You see, the public sector makes laws for the private sector. Therefore, the civil service in Nigeria should be the place where the smartest of us work, not the mediocre we have today. The standard for getting jobs in civil service ought to be so high so that the best brains can make laws for the rest of the country. So, who deserves it? Give everyone real world tests and see what they can do... similar to that thing they call Montessori in schools. For the private sector, learn this from me - all over the world, people give jobs to those they know, trust and like. If you don't fall into that criteria, you will find it difficult to get a job. But then, while other countries use those criteria to give people jobs, they don't sacrifice competence like Nigeria. So, who deserve to get jobs? I will leave that question to the CEOs and HR managers because they know they if they hire incompetent people their organisations will pay a heavy price for it. In summary, nobody deserves to get good jobs first. Excellence and competence should be the yardsticks for giving people jobs, especially for a growing country like Nigeria. |

stevnwigw1: First class in a Nigerian University. First class that can not give themselves jobs are the people u are talking about. U have to redeem yourself as a first class graduate before u redeem a country. Solution. We should seek people with high IQ and not low IQ to find out Nigerian problem. |
