Perhaps being born into a poor family afforded me an uncensored childhood, unlike my mates who were born into rich families, always being monitored, always locked up in their flats (we didn't live in a flat), conveyed to and from school by car, etc. having said that, I lived my childhood days to the fullest

Lizard and bird hunting with self made catapult,

Building toy car with empty peak milk tin,

Inserting one leg into a heap of sand and making a house out of it,

Getting a wheel out of a burnt car tyre and riding it to errands,

Carving out a tyre from an old slippers and using it to make a stick car,

Playing four man post (a type of football game),

Playing PS2 (it nearly derailed me),

Grinding nzu and using it to mimic cigarette smoke,

Forced siesta

Playing okoso

Playing games with rubber bands

Playing under the rain,

This is so me. I did all these while I was growing except for the PS2. I never knew what that was until I came to the city. Literally I grew up in a typical village that even till date they haven’t had electricity.
