I majorly cook for my dogs. I have enough time to do that. But for those that go for commercial feeding; have you ever tried feeding your dogs fish feed (coppens/Aqua 2mm). It has btw 42 - 45%. and good proximate analysis. I use it often too and even add to the noodle waste when cooking and it ranges from 5700 and 5900 respectively depending on the product and size of the mm for 15kg compared to dog feed. I know dog breeders that use it too. Thank me later.

Made this post 2015 or so; so lemme update y'all.
Aqua and coppens are mightily expensive now but Aller Aqua is cost friendly and it is even stated that it can be used to feed Aqua and fur animals and it has Crude protein of 40-45%; 2/3mm can be used along with milk and other stuff to raise puppies be mindful not to rush the dogs because of adaptation to the feed and give lotta water. And it also has a very good taste( well I've tasted it before �) and dogs prefer it to others. There's Bluecrowb, ecofloat feed and other cheap alternatives. Don't rush your dogs with the feed.

I add it to the noodles and steam it together mostly but I use it as kibbles too especially the bigger sizes......way cheaper and more tempting than dog feed because the fish in these fish feed is obvious. .......it's the alternative to cooking 'fish gills + rice/noodles'....especially when I'm too busy or lazy.
lemme add that bigger sizes of these fish feed (preferably Coppens or Aqua); can be used as treats when training ur dogs

The food is too rich and it made my dogs stool a lot. I had to contact a vet before it could stop.
Maybe I need to try it with noodles and see.

guess because dey re not used to it....Mine don't react to it....try it with noodles...not too much though; just 2 hands full depending on the quantity

After my experience, I give them pure dry dog food bought in bags for between 13-15k.
1.5-2 bags per month. but recently I introduced waste noodles cooked with dry fish, mixed with the dry food sometimes, and they enjoyed it.
I have not returned to the fish meal since after my experience. don't want to loose my dogs for anything. They are pure and it cost me real money. Rottweiller and Bernard. (Oscar and Bella)

I majorly cook for them but presently on fish feed (not fish meal)...either I sprinkle half a bowl of the fish feed into hot noodles or I give dem like kibbles.....I feed my dogs once a day...how long it lasts depends on the dog and how many times u feed them

nothing like fresh fish but the fishfeed has other ingredients. ...I prefer cooking for my dogs though;

very true. The main point is, know what works for your dog/what you can afford. And be sure what you're feeding is hygenic.

So I decided to give this a try. My dogs really love it, only problem is their poopoo comes out big and watery. Which means it's not being digested. Any reason why or solution?

I mix with noodles. The fish feed is vita 4mm.

I hope they do adapt cos its the only dry food my female gsd puppy hasn't rejected.
