Not to say that's all that women are good for or that women belong in the kitchen, but it bothers me when I see women almost proudly proclaiming that they can't cook like its a good thing. I don't think men and women are completely equal. We each do certain things better than the other. So make me a ham sammich and ill assemble that table we bought at Tantilizer,

Some of us sure do cook and very good at it. But that doesn't mean that we were born to b in the kitchen.

I loved to cook for my man, and especially loved it when we cooked together and taking turns cooking for each other made me feel so and loved and spoiled back.

Wow! Really? Like the other day when I pick up one of my bf's friend from the airport, he brought back the ingredients to make Ogbona soup anbd he told me he will make it for dinner. I said ok and after he made it, I find it so hard to swallow the thing cause theres a certain ingredient which makes the taste funny to me. But than I am not sure if that the exact taste of Ogbona soup cause after my bf ate it, he was telling me that the soup he cook is not nice.  lipsrsealed embarassed

Hmm, well obviously people make it differently due to some preferences. My aunty owns a restaurant in the UK. She came over to our house in September and made her own ogbono soup. I disliked it so much and she's an experienced and well-trained cook! So, yeah, depends on the person making it lol. You'll like my own o! smiley

I'm in the US. I use all sorts lol. For the one I made above, I used chicken (for the kids), oxtail (for the old people), stockfish, and smoked fish.

I know one thing I admire and love about Nigerian dishes is that they mixed meat and seafood into one single soup which will actually enhance all the flavours of the dish.

Like in my culture, once you cook chicken, theres no way of mixing it with another meat.

Oops! Sorry i thought you are living in Nigeria. But are u originally Nigerian?

That's true for a lot of Oriental dishes isn't it? Or at least the more common ones. I've never heard of chicken shrimp fried rice lol. The bolded is true in my opinion tongue

Nope, I've never lived there. I am originally Nigerian though.

LOL! Like when my bf first cook for my family and I a simple chicken and beef stew,we were all shock as we have never seen such thing before. But my family are very open when it comes to food except my father and I. We both are fussy eaters but when we ate it, we were impress. Since than when I make wontons, I use shrimp and pork or if Im making some chinese dish, I would sumtimes mixed the meat and seafood together. I find it impressive smiley grin

Dudes should  not pay attention to all these NL females claiming they don't cook. They know better. For those who want to marry Nigerian men, if you don't cook, you will have a hard time finding one; and even if they are fortunate to marry one, the man will usually find him a side chick who will cook for him. Moral of the story is that don't cook at your own peril.

Unfortunately, there are so many panty-men these days who don't train their women and demand that they do their womanly duties, of which cooking is a part. I am not saying that she has to cook all the time, but it is her primary responsibility to cook, just like the man would presumably assume performing his primary responsibilities.
