Japan Visa Process by Ladydee30: 10:11pm On May 12
Hi everyone pls I have a question about the Japanese visa…. I applied on Wednesday and all my documents where complete and well submitted but few minutes after leaving the embassy I got an email from the embassy saying all documents are complete except I didn’t attach the COE application form to the other supporting documents used to obtain my COE from my employer, that I need to attach that so I replied to them saying my employer applied for my COE online hence there was no physical application form but I did attach the receipt of the application that was sent from the immigration saying my application was received and is being processed but I can’t help but worry if that will affect my chances of getting the visa

And also my employer has to reach out to the immigration if they could issue an application form but they said that would take one month so right now we are just waiting for the final verdict from the embassy. should i be scared or worried.

I will appreciate any response that would help pls

I think it would have been more okay if you had gone there with a print out of the scanned copy of the receipt you talked about

Congratulations, how long did it take and what were your supporting documents ?
Is tax clearance certificate compulsory ?
It's for a one week visit as a tourist.

Recall I mentioned in our email exchange that tax clearance wasn't compulsory as at 2023 when I applied. I think it is now compulsory for all tourist visa applicants. My visa renewal was denied some two weeks ago - the only document I didn't submit was TCC. There's also a checklist now of all required documents that must be ticked and submitted alongside your application.

You need to get a company that will hire you and once they do that, they will process a COE for you (certificate of eligibility). That takes like 3 months but mine was approved in 2 months and 2 weeks. Once your COE is approved then you will get it through mail or probably and electronic COE like I did, then you can apply for the visa. The visa takes a minimum of 5 working days mine came in 3 days and once your visa is approved it’s HELLO JAPAN

Ps you don’t have to pay the visa fee upon application. Visa fee is only paid when you get your visa and the fee is 12,500 Naira

Also pls make sure you download the checklist on the embassy website and include it with whatever checklist the consular section may attach to your email when they approve a date for your visa application.
