Hi guys,
So I woke up this morning and found that my opay account has been restricted. I called the customer care and they told me that my account is under investigation by CBN for trading on a crypto platform.

Truly, few days ago, I traded about 100 usdt via p2p on one of the exchanges but there was nothing that suggests that it was crypto. I ensured that there was nothing about crypto associated to this trades.

Have you been in this situation before?
Do you know someone?
What was the outcome of it?

Hope your funds aren't frozen...
Have you received that amount of money into the Opay account before? If no, that might be the reason it was flagged.

Also, hope there wasn't any reference to crypto in the remark...

Lastly, ask the sender of the money whether his account too is being investigated.

Hear yourself! You are a P2P merchant and you're surprised about EFCC action. The government frowns at P2P more than trading crypto.

Lazy lot! Trade cryptos but you choose to trade against the Naira via P2P. Hand go you h Una one by one.

If only you knew you're an economic criminal and saboteur! I hope you know the punishment for economic crime in China? Nigeria will borrow a leaf from China soon.

You sound so frustrated. A young man exchanged dollar for naira and you are loosing your breathe calling him an economic criminal when you know nothing about economics . The biggest p2p exchange was banned few weeks ago , dollar is currently 1500 (2naira) . Try and be earning in dollar so you don't cry this hard when people talk about exchange .

Absolutely, there'd a merchant I noticed and was very suspicious about the account, normally when someone wants to buy dollar at high rate the quantity is high like limit will be 2million naira to 10million naira assuming the normal rate is 1400 but the merchant wants to buy it 1530. But this guys limit was 10k to 2m for that price range and the name sounds very made up.

Sorry about that bro. I have not experienced such before but I observed something on most exchanges still doing p2p.

You will find some traders offering USDT/NGN rates that are quite higher than others. e.g when naira was exchanging at 1450. They will be offering it for 1550. I believe these set of traders are gov't undercover agents. Once you trade with them, they mark you and forward yoir details for further investigation.
How to know them?
They have fewer number of orders.
Their completion rate is usually very low
They offer too-good-to-be true rates.
They are always at the top of the p2p trades once you open the platform.

What to do is to totally avoid any trader that looks like what's described above.
Look for traders with more than 1000 completed orders with completion rates of more than 90%.

Gov't can't fight technology. It can only align or be left behind!

Borrow sense too from China. If you used this energy to hold your leaders accountable for doing the wrong things, Naija would have been a safe haven for everyone. Getat!

It sounds like the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is conducting an investigation into your account due to your involvement in cryptocurrency trading. It's essential to cooperate Voip price with their inquiries and provide any necessary information they request. Additionally, you may want to seek legal advice to understand your rights and obligations in this situation.
