In Northern Nigeria, groom's responsibility before marriage is to provide dowry, house where himself and the bride will stay and "lefe"(clothes, jewelleries, shoes, etc) while the parents of the bride will provide everything needed to set-up the house which includes kitchen utensils, furniture, electronics and etc.
