I would like someone to please explain the obsession of Nairalanders and political parties (APC & PDP) / the tribes of the principal holders in each party. Apart from Tonye Barcanista who I know is active in party politics which means he has something to gain from his party winning.

As the rest of those (a large majority) in the politics section and Nigerians in general, I am struggling to understand your obsession with Political parties, what position a person from your tribe holds because the truth is no matter what party you support, and whatever position your tribesman holds, if you are not party of the "clique", you have lost.

APC won the 2015 presidential elections and the question I ask all APC supporters here is what have you gained from their Victory (bragging rights doesn't count)?

I am from Delta State, same Senatorial district as the Governor but what has having a Governor from Delta North done to the people from that region? Nothing. You could swap Okowa with Ejiro, Tamuno, Ade, Musa and nothing would change in the lives of the people in Delta North. Same things goes for Osibanjo and the people of Ogun State. How has his been VP helped them? How did GEJ being President help Bayelsa?

When are we going to realize there are only two parties that matter, the ruling class, and the rest of us and its in the interest of the ruling class to keep the rest of us divided. Go to Ikoyi club and you would see APC members and PDP members dinning and wining together, same thing in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano and Enugu so why do we spend precious time fighting over irrelevant things?

It doesn't matter who wins in 2019, a lot of us lives would be affected the same way regardless of the party you support.

PS: I would like this to be an intellectual exercise, if you think your tribe is better than other tribes, then ask yourself why your villages doesn't have 24 hours power supply. Smart people find solutions to problems and If your tribe hasn't found a solution to its problem, then its not better than others.

Ok. We have heard. But advice, when most needed, is usually less heeded.
