In an unprecedented move, the US House of Representatives, led by Speaker Pelosi, knelt of nearly 9 minutes in silence, honoring and recognizing the unfortunate martyrdom of George Floyd. Symbolically, most of them wore kente sashes/stoles, signifying their solidarity with the Black community worldwide. In addition, several cities and members of the Democrat leadership plan to introduce sweeping police reform bills, with Minneapolis pledging to dismantle its police department.
