PM NEWS

Northern voters may already have unsettled the presidential ambition of General Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the CPC, going by the substantial retrns last weekend’s parliamentary elections.

Pre- election prediction had given Buhari a swathe of territory in the Northern parts of the country, with pundits giving his man rival, President Goodluck Jonathan, a solid support base in the South east, South South and North Central zones of the country.

But voting trends only confirmed Jonathan’s strength, but have shattered bookmakers’ predictions for General Buhari.According to the results of the elections, Buhari’s CPC, performed woefully in some parts of the North West considered its stronghold, with the PDP trouncing his part in those areas. Where the PDP did not hold sway, the ANPP filled the vacuum

Buhari did not contest last saturday - Buhari's election is this coming saturday - wait and see. I am only hoping you will be able to come here and tell me that GEJ is more popular than Buhari in the north after Saturday's election.

Buhari is popular and he has gone down on bended knees for the so callled 'corrupt' PDP leaders to help me in the North so that he would not be disgraced.

ABUJA—NORTHERN political leaders were, yesterday, rallying round Major General Muhammadu Buhari the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, with the prospect of lifting his fortunes during the weekend presidential election.

Among the leaders who met Buhari in Abuja were two former heads of state, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar as well as erstwhile Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.

Buhari’s spokesman, Yinka Odumakin, reacting to the development told Vanguard that the meeting with the top leaders meant that “Buhari was not alone on the issue of changing the PDP government.” The meeting was also confirmed by a top aide of Atiku Abubakar who preferred to remain anonymous because of the unusual secrecy that shrouded it.

Specifically, the CPC and the NPLF have raised teams to visit the North West states of Kano, Sokoto, Jigawa and Kebbi, areas the party was reported to have underperformed during the National Assembly polls.

In one breadth they say no cause for alarm, in another breadth they are raising teams to go and beg Northerners to support CPC. THEY SHALL SURELY FAIL because as seen in the NASS elections, Northerners are wiser now.

SAI GEJ!!!

uum . . . I don't get it. Is it wrong to ask people to support CPC or is it wrong to state that Buhari is a PRESIDENTIAL candidate and NOT a Senatorial Candidate? Honestly, I don't get the reason for the quote above.

Some people are just good at arguing just for the sake of it . .Address the following point Muami tried to raise as to why Buhari is desperately hobnobbing The so called "rouges" of the PDP to achieve his failing presidential ambition . .

No doubt you are correct, Buhari is more  popular but we are more concerned at the percentage difference in the popularity ratio of Buhari and the PDP structure in the North which just delivered and the same platform GEJ is representing. . They NASS PDP won areas must make a strong claim in the presidency to maintain the same momentum at the Gubernatorial level
Like you said . .Sat will tell  . . .

Nobody said buhari's not popular, what we are concerned with is where the people press their thumb! Even where the PDP dwindled, the ANPP filled in. So now buhari is leaking IBB, ciroma, & co's asses, what a shame, i thought he said he's incorruptible. Even the ACN wants nothing to do with CPC again, they have seen how worthless the CPC is, buhari is popular and that is used to pull crowds, but i'm afraid it ends there, it does not win elections, the people say 'sai buhari' and then thumb print 4 umbrella, see how common fisher-boy came and slapped the general in the general's backyard, wonders shall never end o!!

Yeah, we expect the results to differ as buhari wud win on total votes count in the north esp, but pdp wud garner a good percnetafe, that's all it takes to win.in the s-west he wud do well. Go out and just sample opinions esp of the masses, they like gej and he wud win some states in the s-west.

Ondo-lp presidential cand is gej

Lagos-if all the minorities, and his supporters from s-east and west vote him, I wouldn't be suprised if he wins lag.
Osun, ogun gej all the way he wud come close 2nd. N-central gej in 2/3rd.buhari wud come a dist 3rd in the whole of the south and 2nd in ncentral, while he wud win the other zones
