It's so prominent in Nigerian society. Why do they brokeshame despite being world's poverty capital? I've also lived in Ghana for a while, which is another poor African country dominated by Nigerians, and it's not like that there. Same thing in Kenya. These are all Africans like us. So what's different?

It is everywhere, not only in Nigeria.
You feel it is in Nigeria alone because you've only been in Nigeria.

People who broke shame others are still the ones swimming in poverty.
You don’t pay anybody bills, so you don’t have the right to broke shame people.

There different things that are exalted in different cultures. In Nigeria as kids, it’s having the best grades. As adults, it’s being financially wealthy probably because quite a number of people are below the poverty line.

If most people are comfortable and can afford at least the basics, think of how it will spoil market for sugar daddies and sugar mummies. Rich people would actually need to have personality as well

No, I've been in Ghana and Kenya, and it's not like this at all. I spent 8 years in Ghana, in fact, even with the amount of Nigerians in Ghana, you'd think it would be enough to influence the avg. Ghanaian, but it didn't. So explain that because these two are Africans like us.

It is a fact. Ghanaians have a way of life, just like Nigerians have a way of life. Or you want to deny this? Nigerians whole life is centered around money and the aggressive pursuit of it. It's why you can find them in every country on Earth, but you can hardly find Ghanaians to that same degree.
