After one of the global exchanges FTX went down in a brutal way, sending shockwaves to the crypto community at large, the SEC has since then increased their watch on the crypto space and major dealers and in the midst of this, Bittrex has proposed to close down by December 4th.

While I reflected on this, I remembered even after FTX collapsed, new coins were still being created and trades went on well on other exchanges, now this simply means to me that it's as though these exchanges are responsible for what is happening to them.
