The problem with colonial rule is that colonialists only build stuff in areas where it benefits them and where they can save money, which is why we never had enough schools under colonial rule . The colonialists won't build a government school in a village like our state governors have done over the years. It won't benefit them to do so.

Also, colonials took more money out of the country than put into it..on independence, all that money reverted to Nigeria. That's how we were able to build lots of Schools after independence

1.Yoruba land was weakened by a civil war, that's why the british found it easy to take over

2.Igbo land was not a unified entitiy...there was no one central leadership, and no one ruler...result they lost to the british.

3.Hausa and fulani were united, but at the end they lost to technology.

4.IN short it was the Maxim that was the great equalizer. Not subversience.

An Englishman commented in the 1860s that textiles mass produced in western Nigeria were of a higher quality than what Manchester, then the centre of the English textile industry, had to offer.

Intra-African trade was at a very high level, and Igbos traded with the Ashantis and Congolese, while Yorubas traded with lands as far as Mali and Nubia.

I understand, my point is,this development we talking about it was also whites that provided the template.

Before colonialism, many tribes were destroying each other.

When are you people going to let go of this so-called "White stole Africa's natural resources" propaganda?? Mention 1 African nation whose natural resources were stolen and there's nothing left. Africa's problem has only been that they don't know how to process their mineral resources to finished products and use it to create prosperity for themselves. What have we done with the 100s of billions of barrels of crude oil we've taken from the ground? Nothing.
