The 2nd Niger Bridge connects Asaba with Onitsha, and is a major corridor for travellers who are moving from eastern Nigeria to western Nigeria, and vice versa.

The 2nd Niger Bridge was opened to the public in 2023. However, there were reports of under-usage of the bridge due to insecurity and criminality on the new bridge.
