Recently, the German Police carried out a raid operation in five states at the same exact time again a Nigerian cult group with the name Axemen tagged Mafia by the German Police.

It took the German Police two years plus to study this group, profile the exact leaders of the said group without their knowledge.

On the said faithful day, the German Police bursted the hideout of the Axemen cult in Germany. Arresting 287 persons in five states at the same time.

All of them were asked to drop their phones and laptop on the table and step outside. The German police, examined the phones and laptops while the culprits waited outside.

After the examination, 11 persons were taken into custody while the rest were given their phones and laptops back and asked to leave.

Imagine it was the EFCC that carried out the operation?

All 287 persons will be in prison the next day with most of their laptops and phones never returned forever.

Nigeria need a new method for solving crime cases.

The German believes, when you take out the leaders of an organization. The organization die naturally.

Let the EFCC do their job the best way they feel they can achieve the best result.

EFCC do not have access to the kind of technical know how and technologies required for certain investigations. We are not there yet but we will get there.

Investigating criminals for a long time costs a lot of money. Instead, I want to see an EFCC that's proactive in their approach. Get the executive to review the EFCC act through the national assembly in a way that compels federal and state MDAs to send their monthly revenue and expenditure to the commission. That way, the commission can audit them every month and ask them to come to their office for clarification if they think they looted money.

Don't wait for four years to charge people to court. If governors know that their finance commissioners have to send monthly financial reports to the EFCC, they will be careful with how they spend money. The EFCC should also have a project monitoring or investigation unit. This will significantly reduce corruption in Nigeria - that is, if the EFCC is serious about fighting corruption. It's annoying that we don't even treat corruption like it's a problem in Nigeria.

It's not about the time it took to catch the culprits but the speed it took to identify the real culprits (11 people) out of 287 people. That is precision. No media trial, no name calling, not withholding of the properties of those released.

No man is an island. Progress is learning from the best.

How much does it cost to get the resources to deliver such results that Nigeria can't afford.
