The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has assured that the Lagos-Calabar coastal road project would be constructed within the two-term tenure of President Bola Tinubu administration even as he revealed that the President has also approved the design of Sokoto-Badagry highway project as part of efforts to improve economic diversification.
The minister made the remark on Sunday during the inspection of Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway project and federal government’s gazetted right-of-way in Lagos.
He noted that the government was committed to improving the economic diversification of the country by committing to developing road projects that will improve economic corridors for business growth.
Umahi explained that the Sokoto-Badagry highway road is 1,000 kilometres and the project has been designed and approved by the Tinubu administration as part of the Renewed Hope agenda.
“We have another road project that will connect Enugu to Cameroun,” he stated.
He said the federal government was committed to building coastal roads in South-West, South-South, North-West, North-Central and major geopolitical regions of the country as part of his legacy projects.
Umahi further noted that the coastal and highway projects will directly impact on the economy, bring in foreign investors, improve ROI, and attract multinationals into the country’s economic hub while improving the GDP.
He warned that all those that have strayed into government’s lands will be properly addressed as the lands and shorelines along the federal government’s gazetted right-of-way will be reclaimed.

While all these ain't bad, our challenges with power supply and energy are much superior and should be looked into immediately.

Businesses are really struggling and standard of living keeps getting poorer

So in you mind it's a good thing to abandon all the federal roads in the country to start fresh one? It's not about party politics,it's about common sense

What Nigeria needs is steady power for its 200m plus population by any means necessary. If this can be done, believe me, alot of things will fall in place.
