There is this guy that I do give business to (a distant relative), he has been executing tasks for me for over 5 years until last February. I would give him deals and pay at a premium ( he is very good at what he does and delivers on time). There are other guys just as good as him as him that I do engage as well and some are just as good as him, however, I pay him at a premium. Sometimes I get less than 20% of the profit while he takes 80% or more.

When he bought his car he told me about it and I was happy for him, he has been doing well for himself and recently he got a car for the wife. I am happy seeing the progress he is making. However, I feel he is now in a position to go and start searching for deals himself rather than wait for me to give him deals and pay him a premium.

There are other people that are willing to do the job at a 60% discount and they are always checking, I felt it is right to also extend to this other guys. I explained the moral quandary to my spouse and she said...." Theory of badbelle" ... But I feel he has the capacity to go do other stuff so that others can benefit like he has.

I was surprised when I got a call detailing how I am unsettled because of the progress he is making angry That I don't want others to progress around me. Then I asked the caller, what about the other people working with me. Truth is, his pay would settle three guys and the three guys would be happier the got something.

People should take into cognizance that nothing lasts and when someone tells you your services are no longer required, don't take it personally.

I did not get your question, but I didn't tell him I was cutting him off. I only have not requested for his services since February.

What prompted the call you got from him about being a bad person. How did he know you wanted to trim down his deals ?

Correct talk. But anyway I can benefit from this business?
When I was overwhelmed with some tasks mid last year, I got two guys from Nairaland, the Job they did for me, I had to repay the client from my pocket full amount plus abeg plus I will do an extra work free for him. I paid the NLers the full wage we agreed on but they didn't hear from me again. I guess they will see this and know why.

Sorry for your bad experience with the two nairalanders. Dont close your good heart to others though, people can be different.

It is not about closing my heart, if I have a task to execute and my partners are busy, I will search anywhere to get someone to do it. I care about profit not feelings.
