Pardon me if this topic has been over flogged here but as I have never come across any such threads, I thought to open this one. I hope I am in the right section. One of the reasons I don’t find a visit to Nigeria appealing is the lack of things to do while you’re there (or so it seems). After the family obligations of seeing this aunt or that cousin, you are hardly left with time to really explore and enjoy the city (Lagos). Besides catching up with old friends, lost in nostalgic recollections that have been immortalized in our minds, nothing else seems of high significance. We ooh and ahh whenever other countries/cities are mentioned because we have a mark we are dying to leave behind in order to fulfill our personal desires (bungee jumping in Bali – Check!). What can I ooh over in Lagoss? Am I being unrealistic For the Nigerians living abroad, what do you do when you visit Lagos? Lagosians, what do you do for a good time? Is there ANYTHING exciting to do there besides clubbing?? I am hoping your inputs on this issue will enlighten me better because others like me might think the same. Like any JJC, I switched on my laptop on a mission to discover. Operation ‘Lagos Must Be Fun If Na Lie Make I Go Hug Transformer’. Was I disappointed after my long, exhausting, tedious search? Well, if you are reading this post, it means I am no more and it is now your duty to carry on this mission Abeg no mind me jare, hehehehehe! As a foodie first and foremost, I had to shortlist the places I need to visit if I come over as well as other places I discovered online. Feel free to add to this list as I am 100% sure very important places have been missed. When will most Nigerian businesses understand the value in investing in a good website? SMH. I have compiled my list based on what I have read and seen. Getting some of these pictures wasn't easy but I thought a visual would also be a good representation to give you an idea of what I have in mind. Before I carry on listing I want to thank the makers of this website http://lostinlagos.com/ for guiding me on this mission Trip advisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/, and Lets go there http://www.lgtnigeria.com/ were also very helpful. I also find another site that looked helpful but haven't had time to explore http://www.dasiko.com/ 1 Like |

This includes my pick of restaurants, bars and nightlife (if it’s safe). I find it weird coming to Nigeria and eating other cuisines so I’ve selected mainly cafes/restaurants with a bar. I plan on getting authentic Nigerian food from food joints 1662 No. 2 Raymond Njoku Street, off Awolowo Rd, Ikoyi Bar Campione Bar and restaurant 13 Kasumu Ekemode Street, off Saka Tinubu Street, Victoria Island Cafe Vergnano The Palms Lekki, Lagos Chrome No. 82, Adetokunbo Ademola Street, Opposite Eko Hotel, Victoria Island

Lol. . I was in this exact boat alittle over 18months ago when I returned to Nigeria. I remember asking my friends almost everyday where the hangout spots were. Mind you, I'm not the out going type but I wanted to 'see lagos'. This was difficult as many of my friends lived outside nigeria plus I wasn't conversant with lagos roads. My first solo sojourn to the Island was a write off. I unknowingly missed the red light on ozumba mbadiwe as I looked around for The Palms or Shoprite. I was escorted by the police to a corner where I was threatened with all sorts. SMH! let's just say police take my head open office. . .I parted with 10k. Anyway sha, I know say I don digress. Ember creek isn't bad. This joint is overlooking the lagos creek. Infact, you are seated next to the creek. You get to the see the beauty of lagos somewhat at night when the buildings on the otherside of the creeks and boats turn on their lights. Nice sitting arrangement. . .very cozy if you ask me. Their food/menu no bad plus, they are decently prized. Although, I have a problem with their pizza. . .very small and thin. Another place is La Mange in Ikeja. Haven't really explored this place but I hear it is nice. |

At Poster - why stressing yourself in Lagos as you on holiday. Why don't you relax in your nice apartment and be controlling things from there! |
