Thanks for your concern but i want you to know that consumption of rabbit meat is very rapant in some area of Ogun state, Ekiti state and some other states in Nigeria and likewise other white countries like that who actually know the potential values of it meat. Regarding rabbit's market to other market that one is the little challenge we are facing because rabbit meat is not a festival meat like others neither the less there is always market for it depending on the farmers aim to profit. There are alot of schools, resturants, individuls, companies who need rabbit for practicals and for their meat, fur.....We the breeder are always optimistic in our feasiblity studies. Thank. Dyoung forester.

It is species of rabbit not variety sir, but Newzealand white is more demanding than other species and you can raise them in any part of Nigeria and precisely study your feasibility study and seek the help of some professional but believe it it is easy to raise. Thanks.

The best cage to build is the woody cage, and it depends on the carpeter who want to build it and is totally diferent from that of chicken and co. The prize of matured newzealand white is 5k and above but i have rabbit cages for sale.here is the sample pics.
1st pics, have 8 cells and can contain 8 mothers in each cell or 4 in each cells and 5growers or 5 weaner in each other cells total Rabbits 24 or 40 rabbit it without each mother in a cages. 1st cage i built by myself and 2rd cage likewise and 3rd cage i bought it. But i still have other cages but not in this pics. 1st,2rd,3rd cage cost 12k, 6k, 10k. Respectively. Thanks. Dyoung forester.

I think in this our tropics, you'll need a cage that is more open due to heat. But during cold period and when it is windy, you'll hav to cover the sides with tarpauline.

We reared it when I was still much younger(abt 20yrs ago) because of this I want to contribute to this tread In my own little way:to rear rabbit, you need male and female type and they are a very delicate animal, their cage should be devoid of any ant which can sting them, their surrounding should be very clean to prevent diseases. They used to eat wooden casing when they are hungry, when they're mating, they do so with much agility, they are much more resistant to disease s if u do the aforesaid, they have a lot of hair covering their body, when they are about to give birth, they pull off most of their hair to insulate the babies...
They eat milk-like grass and one particular grass with flower ontop!!!!!

According to wot I've read, they do so to recover the nutrient in the dropping. They usually eat the soft pellets.

It is instinct. Anyway, if you want to avoid this, After touching or handling the kits, use the urine of the mother to rub her mouth part. That's all. She will not be able to differentiate.

Hmm is it me boss? No we are all boss ; the flower is call noodle flora and the eating of the kits by her mother when been torched by bear hands to me it means nothings because I have hand picked several new born kits with my bear hands by picking them up from the wire net and later rob the fur l.e pull out fur by the mother when giving birth with the kits or hold the fur with you and use the fur to grap or to hold them with this I think you are good to go.
