is the Yoruba tribe is divided among Islam, Christianity, and traditional religions, while the Igbos of the East and the Ijaw in the South are predominately Christians (Catholics) and some practitioners of traditional religions. The middle belt of Nigeria contains the largest number of minority ethnic groups in Nigeria and they are mostly Christians and members of traditional religions with few Muslim converts.
This means that Nigeria is nearly equally divided between christians and the moslems.

So, how do Nigeria qualified to be a member of Islamic country? Where Countries like Indian and Ethiopia with mixed religion like Nigeria are not member countries.

We are looking for how to end boko haram, but don't you think this is the root cause of the problem? Being a member of OIC places a responsibilities on you , which one of them involves promoting islam in all ramification . Nigeria which is predominately Christians and moslems should not in anyway be a member country in any religious organization. it's obvious that the joining of Nigeria to the OIC was done by a moslem leader without any regard whatsoever for the sensibilities of Nigerians of other faiths which is unacceptable.

It's high time the christians in Nigeria stand in one voice and put all hands on desk to ensure that Nigeria is entire removed from membership of OIC.
As long as Nigeria remain a member, we all shall always be seen and regarded as moslems as far as the outside world is concern, and islam will always be seen as the dominant religion.

If muslims are up to 30% in any country they quickly seek to claim 51% and start agitating for sharia.
For your info. No available data shows that muslim are up to 50% except what the Imams cook in their various mosques. We all know that SW, NC, SS, SE and 45% of NE are mostly Christians. Not forgetting souther Kaduna, southern Kebbi, and zamfara. In all muslims are far less than 45%.
Muslim grab power faster than christian in ruling the country since independence hence IBB and Abacha placed Islam as the official religion while OBJ, GEJ, and Gowon were too chicken hearted to challenge the status quo ante.
