ayemerbarth: No. VAF number is just your application ref number, issued or refused the letter will still carry that number 6 Likes |

ayemerbarth: Until you open your application, the decision of the visa officer is unknown to anyone. But from my understanding and research, about 90% of returned visa applications with a VAF reference number as email subject from UKBA email were successful. Stay calm and relax. 1 Like 2 Shares |

Okay tx for ur early response. Is there a clue from the body of the letter that can determine my fate b4 I go collect the docs formally? Tx 1 Like 1 Share |

FrontPageLawyer: VAF basically means Visa Application Form, the ECO number that follows it uniquely identifies your application. 4 Likes 3 Shares |

Hi All, Pls I just registered my business this year March, I hope it doesn't affect my application? 1 Like 1 Share |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 12:52pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
iluvweed: Before the business was registered, where have you worked? Have you been running this new business and in what capacity? It is not enough reason to just register a business simply because you want to to travel. It will be very difficult to get a visa if your company is barely one year and does not show significant records/transactions. 2 Likes 1 Share |

FrontPageLawyer: I ran my late father's business which was like a family business, but just got my own business this year!, I still have tax clearance and receipts of the previous business, can I include them? 2 Likes |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 1:06pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
iluvweed: Is your late father's business Registered? I want to believe it is still in operation hence the "is" Are you listed as a director in the company if still in operation? I asked these questions because it will be very difficult to get a visa with a newly registered company knowing fully well that anybody can go to CAC and get one. 1 Like 1 Share |

FrontPageLawyer: But the business is still under the same category, just like a new branch of my former business, but now I am the rightful owner of this new company. So pls what do I need to include from my previous business? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by iluvweed(m): 1:09pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
FrontPageLawyer: Yes its still very much in operation and also YES am still listed as a director. But when I filled my application, I used my new business because I have company bank account statement for the new company and all other necessary documents. |

iluvweed: If the family business is still in operation and you are listed as a director, then you will need the following documents to prove you have been working and still works in the company hitherto. -Company Registration Certificate of the Family Business -Tax Clearance Certificate -Memorandum and articles of association showing you as a director of the company. -Your statement of account showing your salary from your family business. -The Company’s statement of account (if applicable) -Board Resolution signed by the Family's Company Secretary confirming that you still a director in the company. - Your own CAC -Tax Clearance Certificate -Personal/Company Statement of account 5 Likes 1 Share |

FrontPageLawyer: Thanks for the response bro!...God Bless you real good. I will keep you posted as to the progress of my application. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by FrontPageLawyer(m): 3:18pm On Oct 11, 2015 |
poca4real: You have 450k in your account and plan to spend 350k which is your one Month salary. In my opinion, the ECO will not consider your proposed expenditure for the duration of your visit to be in commensuration to your personal and financial circumstances. Your application might also be refused for insufficient funds. 1 Like |

Is there any amount you must have in your account?coz one of my friend got USA visa with amount lesser than what I have, and he on 70k salary per month. Clarify. |

I hardly see ppl refused US visa based on financial strength unlike what we know is common wt UK visas, most UK refusals re tied to finances. #MyOwnObservationsOvertime poca4real: 6 Likes 1 Share |

poca4real: You cannot compare the UK and US in terms of VOs reaching a visa decision. UK visa decisions are reached based on documents submitted, while the US reach her visa decisions through assessment of a submitted application and oral interview. I'll be surprise if an ECO approves your application with a closing balance of 450k in your account while you're spending 350k visiting the UK for one or two weeks regardless of your Monthly salary which looks good. However it can be possible if it's a sponsored trip. 1 Like |

You have good home ties, good pay, ur account bal? Hmmm..... The Consular will wonder what u will fall back on when u return from ur trip + u hv family responsibilities. I don't knw abt ur travel history. If the application is not urgent, build ur account. If ur bro is taking care of ur accommodation and feeding, wetin u wan spend 350k ontop . Even tho you might, try to be as prudent as possible in the budget section, N180k/200k for flight and N80k/N100k for T-Fare and miscellaneous + Shopping. That's N280k. poca4real: 2 Likes 5 Shares |
