Depends on where you are coming from, whether flagship or top mid range. Generally mid range phones don't do well in low light conditions. As for the day light pics, don't know why you are not impressed, maybe you over estimated it. But trust me, no device beats it camera wise at same price range.

There's no way themes and location affect picture quality you don't need help actually. So many things affected picture quality even ehn using DSLR. If the weather is cloudy, you'll get a poorer image when compared to bright sunny weathers. You mind sharing some shots here?

Your best bet is to use another file manager to find the large files on your device. You can use "ES File explorer" for this purpose.
I'm suspecting MTK Logger.

My ntel wawu data has expired today. Anybody has any idea on how to renew the bundle without the website option cos their website is down. Their app is working but you can't recharge and the wawu package isn't listed on the app.

There's no problem, 'other ' are files contained in Ucweb, camera, screenshot, mi drop, etc. You can enter each of those folders and delete whatever you want. The attached screenshots are from Redmi note 4 and note 5 .

I experienced same. The very first pictures that I took with my Note 5 when I bought the phone newly were very lovely. However, after I updated the phone, I observed that the picture quality was poor compared to the earlier pictures prior to the update.

So, I think the updates from Xiaomi affects the picture quality of the phones. Even right now, lots of people are complaining that the latest 9.6.3.0 update affected the portrait mode on their front facing Camera. You can read reviews about this on MIUI Forum.
