I have argued at different fora that the current crop of musicians are so much 'untrained' and unprofessional as there are little or nothing to gain from their music. All they sing about is money, SWAGGA THE SWAGGA, GINGER THE GINGER(TERRYG), SEX, MONEY(D BANJ) WEED(TERRYG), CLUBBING AND LOVE AND SEX(ALL OF THEM), ENEMIES, OLOFOFO, CARS, SUFFERNESS( TIMAYA). Only a few like 2face, 9ICE, DAREY have maintained the level of sanity. Others who opt to sing sense alone do not sell at all e.g BEAUTIFUL NUBIA. cAN we then say that these present crops of musical illetrates are better than EBENEZER OBEY SUNNY ADE ONYEKA ONWENU Raski mono OLIVER DCOQUE KAYODE FASHOLA BLACKKY etc. We should base our judgements on their messages, delivery and popularity worldwide. 1 Like 1 Share |

jay-girl: go and listen to some old school again. they also had very good beats. don't you wonder why some new school artists remix old school songs retaining the same beats |

The creator of this tread, thank you jare, i am a fan of Old sckool music way back (70's and 80's music.) it had meaning , the beats were also dance-able, and we still rememeber it today, go to any party and play old school music like Shalamar, Whispers. Kool and the Gang etc and see if the floor will not be filled in 2 seconds flat, with everyone singing along as if it was only released yesterday , not like the ORI E FONKA SIBE that we hear today, The Bible says "Confess with your mouth what is pure" if you keep singing Ori e fonka sibe all the time, it might just happen, i dont pray it does, but if it does, you have called it upon your self in jest Gimme Old School Music any day Man! (Oh gimme, Yeah Gimme, Oh Gimme what you cant get back, Oh Gimme, C'MON and gimme Girl, Gimme what you cant get back, ) I-LEVEL 1980 |

It is a fact that many grammy winners today stole some part of the old school. |
