*EFFECTS OF SEXUAL ISSUES*

The major problem with sexual immorality is that *it ruin your fellowship with the Holy Spirit*

It is first about YOUR SOUL Followed by The emotional and psychological effects which leaves you with emptiness, depression, feelings of worthlessness, regret, shame, low self-esteem, frustration and dissatisfaction, etc

For instance, Pornography and Masturbation can ruin your marital sex-life if you don't get healing on time.

Masturbation makes you self-serving in sex with your spouse as your focus is only on you

You look forward to masturbating than looking forward to sex with your spouse; which destroys true sexual joy and fulfilment.
I read of a married man whose wife caught masturbating. He said *I used to masturbate as a bachelor... After I got married I do enjoy sex with my wife but I discovered I always fantasise about having sex with any woman that I get attracted to, this gives me arousal and I wrap it with masturbation leaving my wife out. Sex with my wife doesn't appeal to me but masturbation...I leave her on the bed at night to masturbate in the bathroom*

*The fuel of masturbation is lust*
Pornography corrupt your mind and thought life. It could turn out to be a psychiatric issue as the compulsive thought dominate and controls your whole essence.

I remember a guy said he could UnCloth any woman in his mind through a mere look.
SEXUAL PURITY IS A NATURE

Being sexually pure has to do with your *Spirit* *Soul (mind and thought) * and *Body*

Sexual purity is a nature, a nature of Christ bestow upon you when you totally surrender your life to Christ. He regenerates your soul and implant His Seed in you which is the Word of God and the Holy Spirit to help you live a life pleasing to God.
You carry on the nature of God for a holy living.
God wants to heal your spirit, broken spirit, your mind and body.

Friends, You are assured of God's love. Smile.

Your struggles are over when you surrender to Jesus.

You have cried. You have been used and abused. You have given up on yourself. But God's outstretched arms are out to receive you.

His love will bring you through and establish your feet in holy living.

YOUR BODY AND HOW YOU USE IT IS IMPORTANT TO GOD

1. God gave you a body. Your body makes you a human being, an existing being.

2. Your body is for the Lord, His property.
2. Corinthians 6:13

3. God is Spirit. Your body houses your spirit with which you communicate and relate with God and carry out God given assignment
4. Your body is a tool for the fulfilment of life purpose.
Your body and its wholeness is important.
Hebrews 10:5-7

5. Your body is a member of Christ. Vs 15

6. Your body is God's temple

7. Sexual sin and immorality involves the use of your body
2 Corinthians 6:16

8. Sexual sins doesn't only corrupt your body, it affects your spirit with which you connect with the Holy Spirit. This could bring about emptiness and spiritual dryness.

9. Sexual sins doesn't leave your body the way it meets you.
The way we use our bodies is the way we have it.

SEXUAL HEALING

The battle cry of the devil since the time of Adam and Eve is to destroy ones fellowship with God.

Before the devil could penetrate your life, he must have cunningly tried his scheme on your *spiritual health* This implies that poor spiritual health could open you up to immoral acts.

*It is the power from within that quenches the temptations from without*

When your spiritual health shut down, you begin to love and take pleasure in what God hates.

*ROAD TO SEXUAL HEALING*

1. Kick start your spiritual health


The first step to your sexual healing is your relationship with God.

The focus should not be on *fighting* those sinful sexual acts, your total deliverance lies in building your fellowship with God.

Why is this so important?
In your fellowship with God, your spirit which is inside of your body is quickened OR strengthened and your body is impacted upon.

A fervent prayer life keeps your spirit on fire. It directs your longings, desire and burden to God.

A regular Word Study feeds your soul and your mind.
"Make them holy—consecrated—with the truth;
Your word is consecrating truth." John 17:17 Msg

"To make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God's word." Ephesians 5:26

The Word of God ingested into your spirit takes chaff off your life, it changes your thoughts processes, mould your spiritual muscles, and revitalise you.


Your inner man has the full capacity and power to supply you the strength needed in the face of temptation.

A life of worship gives you joy in the Holy Ghost.

Engaging your Spirit by Praying in the Spirit which is praying in tongues enfires you.

Fellowship with other Christians.

Feeding on godly literatures and movies
What you feed your spirit with determines your thoughts processes and what you brood on that finds way into your heart inform your actions*

Erotic novel and magazines, pornographic movies and soft porn movies, music audio and video, sexual suggestive conversations and plays, etc must be done away with.
2. Openness and Accountability.

*The strength of sin is secrecy*

The second step is to open up your issue to someone who is trustworthy and has the ability to help you out by providing you spiritual and moral support. Such a person will be your accountability partner.
This person could be a counselor, your pastor or anyone who has spiritual authority over you.
You can share your struggles with the person, get counsel and strength in your vulnerable moment.

The truth is, if you are not truly accountable to the person, you are likely to fall without anyone to hold you up.

Should there be a relapse, I mean if you fall, don't keep it from the person if you do, you are back to the cage
3. Build healthy environment
Association:
Are there friends who entice you directly or indirectly to lust? Do away from such.
You might need to wipe some friends off your social networks if their content are always sexual.


Note and Avoid the triggers
What triggers your desire to watch pornography? Internet!
In getting your head up, some of you might need to uninstall your browsers App.
If you are not yet sure of your ability to control the drive to visit porn sites.


Places
I have counseled many people struggling with masturbation. Many of them confessed that certain atmosphere stir up lust in them.
Like being alone in the house, the bathroom, at night, early in the morning, in a dark room etc
Avoid these situations.

Bathroom door must be left open, get to sleep in the room with your friends or family. Take right decisions.
4. RELA-PAUSE
Simply put a pause to relationships for now and heal up first.

This is very important.
Starting a relationship when you have sexual issues unresolved is not healthy for you.

You should give yourself a break from relationship. Take your time to heal up so that your lack of self-control will not ruin good relationships.
5. Celebrate your victory
A day free from falling into error is worth your celebration. Rejoice in the Holy Ghost.
