High sch is only a secondary sch in britain and other contries .4 9ja here 7yrs old child is in secondary sch(form 1 and 2)

for the naysayers High school is only 4 years before you enter college . So the Freshman year of high school is equivalent to JS 3 . Me i dont know many JS 3 students that are nine .

First year - Freshman
Second year - Sophomore
Third year - Junior
Fourth year - Senior

Anyway, I think the journalists made a mistake here. . . they may be talking about 6th form college (A-Levels) as opposed to Secondary School. . .

In UK, the usual age for entering Year 7 (1st class of Sec Sch) is 10.

In that case, theres nothing amazing about their achievement.

i think there is some confusion over the difference betewwen secondary school and high school .

Secondary school - 6 years then college

High School - 4 years then college

a freshman in high school in the UK will be transfered to JS3 in Nigeria .

9 in JS 3 means 7 in JS1 . I dont know about yall . But i know 7 year olds that still pee their pants. Please lets give kudos where it is due
