Stop embarrassing yourself. I thought you'd tackle the question strategically but your response has squandered to that low level of insignificance. Nope, I hope with the best education you acquired in Nigeria you can do better. |

zaandrew: Part of the reason why you did not win the war. Your jets were reconnaissance failures. Anyway, SAAF did very very few air recce because your pilots were afraid of Cuban MiG-23 when your Mirages were fully armed for combat not to talk of when they are equipped for recce....and your other jets would not venture to any place where Cuban MiG jets will eat them for dinner. |

zaandrew: Dude, Sweden does not depend on Gripen jets for ISTAR, they have Saab 340 called S 100B aircraft for that... "In July 2006, Saab was awarded a contract to upgrade two of the Swedish Air Force's S 100B aircraft for surveillance missions and for deployment in multi-national operations. The upgraded Saab 340 AEW-300 aircraft, are planned to enter service by 2009." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_340_AEW%26C Also, Sweden has Gulfstream G-IV SP aircraft for SIGNIT. Your South African air force must be 66 years behind the world for you to be calling Gripen jet fighter your fvcking ISTAR aircraft. British air force did not list Eurofighter Typhoon swing-role jet fighter with powerful radar and special functions including Search Modes - Ground Map, High Resolution Map, Ground Moving Target Identification and Sea Surface Search and Track While Scan capabilities, as their real reconnaissance or ISTAR aircraft despite the fact that Typhoon can do better recce than your tiny toy Gripens. See what sensible countries call ISTAR aircraft..... http://www.raf.mod.uk/equipment/istarandcistar.cfm South African air force is 166 years behind Nigeria, you have zero ISTAR aircraft and zero ELINT aircraft. SANDF-SAAF is an over-rated over-bloated balloon, when I pin you with needle now, you go burst . |

. The most powerful ISTAR air force in Africa is Nigerian air force We have one of the best ISTAR capabilities in the whole world... . Nigeria`s ultra modern new surveillance aircraft with powerful Data-Link Enter the secret Beechcraft King Air, sophisticated spy master of giant Nigeria See the radar dome and data-link under the Nigerian SPECIAL MISSION aircraft Flight range....about 5,000 km !!! Long-range air to ground search radar with 80km range 12 hours flight non-stop "King Airs are ideal surveillance aircraft. Each model features a large, pressurized, environmentally controlled cabin, high dash speed and extensive endurance. The King Air 350ER offers even more endurance, performing over-land surveillance with sufficient payload to operate a moving target indicator, synthetic aperture radar, EO/IR (FLIR), streaming video data-link, self-protection systems, The integrated sensor suite includes an MX-15 surveillance turret with long-range cameras and infrared to detect, track, classify and identify surface contacts. These capabilities can also be turned to limited maritime patrol, via long-range ship detection and imaging, and identification of small ocean targets in high sea states., and a wide variety of high-performance communications systems. Imagery systems have been installed in virtually all models of the Beechcraft King Air. Today’s data link technology allows relatively simple transmission of real-time streaming video to fixed or vehicle-mounted ground receivers for timely dissemination to tactical units." http://www.beechcraft.com/special_missions/surveillance.aspx Notice the radar under the belly of the Nigerian aircraft....An all-weather sensor, provides photographic-quality images through clouds, rain, dust, smoke, and fog, in daylight or total darkness, detects time-sensitive targets and changes on the ground that may be undetectable by Electro-optical/Infrared (EO/IR) sensors. Other aircraft have been received for world class surveillance capabilities by Nigeria, BUT IT IS HARD TO FIND MOST NIGERIAN EQUIPMENT AND WEAPONS ON INTERNET, we are more than what you see in photos or google, we are the armed forces of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria. . 1 Like

zaandrew: South Africa has ZERO security in your west coast, you are depending on Nigerian navy to save the whole of ECOWAS down to SADC your own region of influence. Since your navy is dead on that side you abandoned for Nigeria, then Nigeria can invade South Africa from Angolan side, we don't need to stay, we just get some toxic nuclear reactor wastes and dump them on South African soil and we sail back home. Your p.eople will d.ie small by small from radiation. Even Liberia can drop ebola virus into the air on South Africa's west coast, where you have zero naval presence because you think you are safe. Fools ! Pirates in Angola are your SADC pirates, they hijack European ships in your waters, they shifted there because you were patrolling Mozambiques side on the west, your one-eyed navy cannot watch two opposite sides at the same time, them pirates struck where you were not patrolling. Your navy is a failure in peace time, and a waste of the billion dollar loan you borrowed from banks to buy submarines that have zero use to you today and maybe for ever ! Mumu nation, Somali pirates have wisely shifted from your west side to your east side of Angola, dribbling you as in Tom & Jerry "Piracy does not currently present a problem within South African territorial waters; however, the country has become increasingly concerned about such acts since December 2010 when Somali pirates launched their southernmost successful attack, hijacking a Spanish fishing trawler, the Vega 5, and her 24 crew inMozambique waters (Mwangura 2012). This shift in activity southwards led to a recognition by South Africaof the need to act to curtail the threat. Whilst the South African Navy has spoken of its preparedness to tackle this threat, criticisms have emerged about the South African naval capabilities and their ability to undertake anti-piracy missions. http://www.e-ir.info/2012/11/06/anti-piracy-actors-south-africa/" . |

Well, South Africa's 'experienced blue water navy' d.estroyed their own Frigate during sea training and sank it to sea bottom, k.illing many naval men... "On 18 February 1982, while under the command of Captain de Lange, the President Kruger sank 78 nautical miles (144 km) south west of Cape Point after colliding with SAS Tafelberg in the early hours of the morning. The ship was involved in an anti-submarine exercise with another frigate, the President Pretorius that involved intricate manoeuvres around the Tafelberg. The bows of the Tafelberg impacted on the SAS President Kruger on her port side at the senior ratings’ mess, resulting in the loss of sixteen lives. A Westland Wasp helicopter, operated by 22 Squadron SAAF from the other frigate, rescued crew members from the water. FighterPilot: @Agaugust defence web is owned by an ITweb media house which has employed over hundred people. It is not a blog which can be owned by individuals and edited whenever the administrator feels like. It is a credible source and is very different from beegeagle. Beegeagle is a very credible source, European media consult him, Nigerian navy consults him for partnership. Beegeagle is the one who named Nigeria's new stealth warship NNS Centenary, that is powerful recognition . |

FighterPilot: One man can own a website. Big business companies in America have blogs. Beegeagle can register his blog with a business name. Who told you Beegeagle has no staff? You know his office? He can employ 1,000 people in his office, his website is still a web blog or a blog. Google the meaning. A blog is also a website, only that the public can post comment anytime, that is what differentiates blogs from websites. |

zaandrew: Reason why pirates operate there...pirates go where ships are...retaaard. " Six million tonnes of oil are transported around South Africa’s western coastline, which makes this a prime target for pirates’ (Sisulu 2011). It is clear therefore, that South Africa is growing as an anti-piracy actor having defined maritime piracy as a security threat to the region in recognition of a need to protect its self-interests in time of changing circumstances by stopping the spread of piracy before it become a serious problem in South African waters." http://www.e-ir.info/2012/11/06/anti-piracy-actors-south-africa/ . |

zaandrew: Please find another topic, jet fighters are not ISTAR platforms, many F-7 jets do reconnaissance too. Mumu. "F-7BG 16 was delivered to Bangladesh in 2006 including with 4 two-seater FT-7BG. The capability to carry reconnaissance pods and operate the equipment inside the pods from the cockpit of earlier F-7MB is retained. Reported to use Grifo MG radar." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chengdu_J-7 Your Gripen jet is NOT an ISTAR aircraft. |
