Nigeria 'owning' ECOWAS is the reason Ecowas has never achieved anything other than ''ECOMONG soldiers''. We have to have diff super powers for french speaking, and english speaking smaller countries to maki it work!
As opposed to having a major francophone rival whose name is not FRANCE.
Nigeria have benefited from ECOWAS. Our businesses are everywhere, and the citizens in those countries have benefited from the FDI.
Now imagine adding Morocco to the mix, with cheaper goods due to decent infrastructure, better government, and a more stable system than Nigeria, your guess is as good as mine. That would be a trouble for Nigerian businesses and economy.

And they are oil and gas producing too.

Morocco joining ECOWAS is a win-lose situation. Morocco is close to Spain and West Africans that engage in illegal migration can have easy access to Morocco due if they have ECOWAS PASS. This will make their run into Europe a bit easier.
However, it will lead to trade imbalance as Morocco will flood West African markets with their goods.
Moreover, their colonizing of Western Sahara is another dent on them.

So you accept that this cesspit called Nigeria is not working.

So small Morocco is a threat to big for nothing giant called Nigeria.

this deal has many gains for nigeria..think on the millitary side...nigeria could get a base in morocco to checkmate boko haram in north africa before they even reach nigeria with new weapons...how can that be a loose...

morocco cant beat us in production...they just dont have the population.....

I still don't see how we are benefiting from what you have written.
example, a class has 7 yoruba students, only 1 is very intelligent. That same class has 14 hausa student, none is intelligent. And for them to all succeed they must all work together in trust and harmony. Then you find out in the next class, an hausa student, although not as intelligent as the ony yoruba one in ur class, wants to leave his class because everybody in his class is brillant, still yet he comes last although they all pass............ You are the teacher, what will you do?

Fucck that shitt.
You negotiate from your own position of strength.
If integration would be bad for your business, then jettison it.
Trump is cancelling the NAFTA(North Atlantic free trade) agreement because he claims it does not favour America. We are not smarter than them.

If Nigeria has the infrastructure to out-produce every other African country like china, then integrate the whole thing and flood those african countries with cheap goods. But we are not china. We are not even Morocco. We have the bigger economy, they have the better infrastructure to beat us to the punch.

well on the brighter side, Nigeria will have no choice but to increase/improve production, infracstructure to counter whatever the morrocans are planning if the govt is wise. In other words Nigeria will now have reasons to improve this country finally!........ But we all know the story. Smh

There is no Biafra in existence.

Biafrans does not dictate national policy or create federal infrastructure to maximize economic output. The government in Abuja warts and all, determine the future of the Igbo people as well as the rest of Nigerians.

oga the reasons why ECOWAS was formed was foe every member to benefit AT THE SAME TIME. The reason ECOWAS isnt improving is because ONLY ONE COUNTRY IS BENEFITTING THE MOST FROM IT. And whats the benefit? NIGERIANS ARE FREE TO COLONIZE ALL THE COUNTRIES BUT NOT THE OTHER WAY ROUND!
Re: Reps Discuss Nigeria's Position On Morocco's Plan To Join ECOWAS by DontForceUnity: 3:08pm On Nov 10, 2017

Nigeria should learn to think strategically. Morocco can displace Nigeria as the most important member of Ecowas, or at least it can rival Nigeria within the block in terms of influence. For that reason alone, Nigeria ought to make every open and surreptitious effort to deny membership to Morocco.

Besides I really hope that Morocco and its Mediterranean neighbor Spain will not attempt to have some sort of privileged membership of Ecowas whereby one will still require a visa to go to Morocco.

I am disappointed in Nigerians being scared of little Morocco.

Thank God you all now know that Nigeria is the dwarf of Africa.

Morocco is trying to infiltrate West Africa on behalf of Spain and if you think France is bad enough try spain or better yet both France and Spain, because if you think France will let go it's ties with Africa based on the emergnce of Spain and its Arab allies then you are certainly a clown

Numbers ?
lol. You think we are in the 18th century of manual labour?

The best sardines in your markets are from morocco. And some other products especially in foods and drugs.
The reason why we don't have more is because Nigeria has protectionist policies against non-west Africans countries. We don't import in significant amount what we already produce from non-west African countries.
Even west Africans can be bullied to import only a small quota into Nigeria. Ghana recently complained of that.
Make them members of Ecowas and you won't be able to shut them out without making the rest of the aggrieved west Africans neighbours more angrier.
