The January transfer window always sees some odd links pop up between top teams and their surprising targets.

For Chelsea fans, that has meant seeing the Blues linked with moves for a series of target men to back up Alvaro Morata at the front of their attack.


Peter Crouch, Andy Carroll and Fernando Llorente are just three players said to be on Antonio Conte's radar this month but the Premier League champion's interest in the trio has not impressed many supporters.

Fans of rival teams have mocked the Blues' seeming desperation, and now even some players are getting in on the act as Adebayo Akinfenwa jokingly ruled himself out of a move to Stamford Bridge.

And one Twitter account suggested Chelsea should be taking a look at Wycombe Wanderers' Akinfenwa, with the striker famed for his physical prowess and ability in the air.

The 35-year-old, however, posted a tweet and joked that he would not join the Premier League champions as he wouldn't be able to eat his favourite dish.

He wrote: 'Woke up hearing the Chelsea rumors, I’m flattered but I’ve heard Conte don’t allow chicken at the training ground sorry can’t do it.'
