Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams, has declared readiness to lead fight against killer herdsmen, disclosing that his  zeal to protect Yorubaland and the will of the Yoruba population to defend their fatherland are being tested with the invasion of some parts of their domain by murderous herdsmen.

While lamenting the unprovoked killings in parts of the country, and how the perpetrators have not been brought to book by the authorities, he called for a South-West Security Summit to discuss herdsmen killings in the region as  events of the last few months have shown that Nigeria is at the crossroads.

Noting that strange things are happening in the country, Adams, who is also the national coordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, pointed out in a statement issued on Tuesday that, “Blood thirsty maniacs are on the rampage, killing and maiming innocent Nigerians. The insecurity in the land is reaching an alarming peak.”
