Some Nigerians have reacted to the report that Bola Tinubu, a National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has anointed Jide Sanyaolu Sanwoolu as the next governor of Lagos State over the incumbent, Akinwunmi Ambode.


DAILY POST reports that over 50 council chairmen loyal to Tinubu, Ambode’s estranged godfather, had reportedly met and pledged their support for Sanwoolu, who is believed to be Tinubu’s preferred choice.

The council chairmen are the most influential grassroots mobilisers under the direct primary system adopted by APC, to pick governorship candidates.


However, some Nigerians, who took to their Twitter handles, expressed shocks over Tinubu’s decision.

The zombiefication of yoruba masses by Jagaban is in full gear. No wonder Yobe and Borno are now doing better in literacy than our yoruba states according to WAEC stats. Tinubu as a smart politician is destroying education in yorubaland in order to promote easy zombiefication and its working. This is the kind of /sophistication' we yorubas have always boasted about. The Ibos can never have it because they are too educated to be easily zombiefied.
