alldone: I don't understand. How on earth can you prefer a Toyota to a BENZ? It's like preferring a lunch of garri and salt to delicious semovita and afang soup! ! ! Anyways, i'm a BMW fan but i gat respect for Mercedes/Daimler products e.g the SLS AMG Roadster

with respect to your Benz views & opinions. the Mercedes Benz is a wonderful make. i have actually used the 99/00 c230 kompressor and the c280 of same model. they were wonderful, and i never regretted using any of them. but ever since i started driving BMWs, my life has never remain the same. come try our road network in the northern part of nigeria with BMWs, OMG, imagine ABUJA-JOS, JOS-KADUNA, BAUCHI- MAIDUGURI with the likes of E46 2002/2003 (COJA),especially the 3330i, the X5, the older model 5 series(E34), the older model E36 and the E39. to mention a few. i grew up in lagos, but now work in the north. TRY A BMW TODAY, AND YOUR WILL NEVER REMAIN THE SAME BMW 4 LIFE 2 Likes |

I love Mercedes Benz. I have been in the Mercedes family for 11 years. I have owned the Es and the Cs, they are awesome! Below is my latest collection that I am letting go. The lucky guy out there will be able to grab it in Nigeria at a reasonable price,

xerotop: Bimmers are hit or miss, some models you should avoid at all costs namely X5,x3,x6, E36s are great E46's not so much, the last great BMW's were the E34 ,E30 and to some extent the E38s the newer E60,s and E39's are much too overweight and complicated. Also too expensive for what you get, heck the BMW % and 7 series come too high priced without the options, when you can get a fully optioned Merc s class or Lexus Ls for the same price. |

jerryben12: Here is a little of what to expect from the 2008 C300, Redesigned for 2008, the C-class has handsome exterior styling that mimics the top-of-the-line S-class sedan. C-class Luxury models come with a more traditional upright grille with the signature three-pointed star hood ornament. The Sport models have the three-pointed star within the grille itself, a treatment that Mercedes usually reserves for its coupes and convertibles. Inside, the C-class is comfortable up front, but the back seat is small compared with its competitors’—even the Honda Civic has more interior space. The controls are laid out logically but looks cheap in some places. all versions of the C-class feel solid and refined. Few noises make it into the hushed cabin. Handling errs on the side of luxury—even on Sport models—and the C300 and the C350 can’t match the dynamics of the BMW 3-series or Infiniti G37. The Sport models improve the handling by firming up the chassis, but even these seem to be more about solidity and luxury than carving up curvy roads. The C63 AMG has a specially tuned suspension that makes it ready for the racetrack. In a recent comparison test of $38,000 sports sedans, a C300 Sport took on the BMW 328i, Cadillac CTS, and Infiniti G35. The Mercedes finished last, but that result isn’t quite as bad as it looks given the stellar competition. The C300 impressed us with its solidity, subdued mechanicals, supple ride, and easy-to-use navigation and radio controls. The last-place finish is largely due to the car’s smaller size, unimpressive interior materials, and bias toward luxury. We also pitted a C63 AMG against the BMW M3 and Audi RS4. The Benz finished second to the M3, on account of its rough ride and bad fuel economy Thats what Car and Driver magazine says, personally its small for me but its a nice car, especially if you can get it with the 6 speed,to save fuel. |

ADOLF HITLER One of the earliest links between a leader and a particular marque was the association of Adolf Hitler with Mercedes-Benz. The Führer was known for his love of luxury cars and ordered a succession of custom vehicles from Mercedes, culminating in the 770K model of 1941, which was rumoured to weigh up to five tonnes.[16] These cars and their predecessors became synonymous with Nazi parades and Hitler's visits to conquered cities such as Vienna and Paris

@ owowalapo - thanks for your observations, the thread isnt just for the display of pictures of Benz, but to discuss on issues positive and negative - common problems and solutions. if you read my first post, that was what its meant for, pls keep ur posts coming and lets abide by the intent of this thread. thanks, ehen, @ xerotop, I beg no be quarrel O, just as e be for naija so called pop artist now, if you like BMW, start ur thread and we are not comparing here, meanwhile, if u are a nigerian, you and I should be ashamed for not being able to boast of manufacturing " I PASS MY NEIGHBOUR GENERATOR", rather than singing praises for the innovative breakthrus of other countries while we consume and always dream of consuming! Start a Bimmer thread and focus there ok? Back to topic proper,, pls can anyone help me with the C class service manual?- 1994-1999 models. |

Guys guys guys, little did I know that brothers still love the MB as much as I do. I am a german machine freak. I have used the 230E flatboot in the mid 90s, used a Honda Civic for change later but was appalled at its performance. I went for a BMW E36 Wagon wasnt very impressed cos it drags before picking speed and makes a lot of noise. In 02 I researched about the MB cars and my discoveries will shock ya'll. The MB W124s of 1995 stands out as the best MB ever built. I have used the E200 between 2002 & 2006, sold it to friend and still running like new till date. I currently drive the 99 E320. Presently, I have a 95 W124 up for grabs. Check it out on this trade www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-584115.0.html its packed with power. Its tincan cleared just last month after the xmas break. Grab it now if you love MB. |
