Those who have a bank account will understand that they can’t just change their sim card if they have all their bank detail attach to it and even if you want to change your sim card the stress is just too much.

What is the full meaning of sim card: A SIM card is a smart card in a mobile phone that connects it to a particular phone network. SIM stands for ‘Subscriber Identity Module’.

Why do you have to lock Sim Card

if you know you always Misplace your phone or you are scared of someone hacking into your bank account or personal detail, this happens to be the safest way to keep your detail safe since it was very easy to hack into phone than sim card. hacker has confirmed that they cannot hack into locked sim card but they can get into any locked phone.

what happens if they get access into your phone with unlock sim card

We all know that mobile banking is good but comes with lots of disadvantages and everyone needs to be careful just by dialing code you can buy airtime, transfer fund and even pay utility bill with or without data. this is the very reason why you have to keep your phone safe and if you meet a stranger/old time friends and he/she wants to exchange number with you for any reason don’t give him/her your phone to enter your details it is not safe as you can’t trust anybody.

If hacker can get access to your phone with unlock sim card they can access your bank account details, buy airtime with your sim to check your balance via the debit alert your sim card will receive and then they will transfer fund to a donor account where they can make withdrawals.

so it advisable to always lock your phone and your sim card the main reason why you have to lock your phone is because it might keep your detail safe such as your Gmail account, facebook account, etc because it not that easy hacking into lock phone as some will have to flash or format the phone to gain access leaving the phone free of every of your details.

and if your sim card is locked you are good to go as you will just have to go retrieve your sim from any of the network providers with your ID card etc.

Oga, I thought locking SIM card only prevents it from functioning in another phone.

Meaning that if your phone is stolen and the Thief has access to the phone he can still use your SIM inside your stolen phone but can't insert it in another phone.
