Court Grants Bail To Former INEC Chairman Maurice Iwu. Prof. Iwu was arraigned at a federal high court in Lagos on a four-count charge bordering on money laundering.

Justice Chuka Obiaozo granted the bail to the tune of one billion naira and two sureties and that he must not communicate with any of the witness in the case.

The former chairman is alleged to have between December 2014 and March 2015, aided the concealment of N1.2 billion.
The said sum was in the bank account of Bioresources Institute of Nigeria Limited domiciled in the United Bank for Africa, (UBA) PLC.
Mr. Iwu is a Nigerian Professor of Pharmacology who was appointed Chairman of the INEC in June 2005 and was removed from office in April 2010.

One billion naira bail? Dem wan wreck Iwu. Where him keep dat kind money? Them wan kukuma collect everything from him.


Make him kukuma go jail, serve him sentence then come out and flex the remaining balance.

I love the judge! This is the kind of stringent bail conditions that should be imposed on those standing trial for corruption.
